This 'charity' has relaunched a few times with different names. Kate draws publicity, this isn't always 'good' publicity though. oops
Indeed, so this has nothing to do with searching for Maddie, let's get that straight. This is a signpost charity a bit like most charities now, they sign post. bit pointless as one would expect some actual help. You also have to ask what kind of counseling Kate needed, she was a director of a company which used her 'missing' daughter as a source of income. So maybe it is her knack for begging for money and her sales pitch rather than the circumstances of how her daughter disappeared which got her the post.
You really do have a very slanted viewpoint which is not very edifying to witness.
If you think for a millisecond that either of these two women would not prefer to be holding their daughters in their arms than the 'celebrity' they 'enjoy' ... you would be sadly mistaken.
Both have gone through pain which must at times have brought them to their knees in despair, they have managed to overcome that and turn it into positive action for others. Both have a very unfortunate qualification which enables them the first hand knowledge of the suffering endured by the relatives of the missing.
They have been given a reward because of the work they have done on behalf of others and raising the profile of the charity which gives support to those suffering loss.
I think that is a worthwhile thing to do.
