The person whose fingerprints were identified.

I have tried that on several windows and once the catch is released it is very easy  to use your hands and slide it open, and even more so if the catch is difficult to reach and the person is straining to reach it. The bed did look relatively undisturbed, didn't it ?

So, next question pegasus.
But this window does not have a "catch" Steve. It has a lock button and a an unlock button. Both buttons are on the handle. If you press the unlock button your hand is already on the handle. So why on earth would you take your hand off the handle and open it using the glass?

Lock or catch, once released the window can be slid open. Perhaps you should try it.

I have used that kind of window, by the way.

Bottom line, there is no independent verification the window was open before 10 pm, and please do imply there was.

Inside the parents' wardrobe? Less likely, though, as someone could have come back for an extra jacket.
If an adult hid in a wardrobe in the parents bedroom it would be the right wardrobe, which is hanging space so has plenty of room for an adult. (The shelves in the left wardrobe make the spaces there a bit small to conceal a fully grown adult IMO).

Behind the floor length curtains or possibly just down behind the far-side of the bed, praying that the incomer wouldn't enter.
If an adult wanted to hide in the parent's bedooom, IMO the chosen hiding place would probably be to lay down on the floor between the far bed and the balcony door, like you suggest Misty.

All hypothetical.

Why would a burglar want to hide ?

If they found someone in the apartment, in all likelihood they would scarper.

Agreed.  I've rather lost track of who is theoretically wanting to hide.

KM stated she found the window and shutter already open. There is absolutely no evidence she is telling anything less than the truth. Do you not realise Steve25000 that this witness's veracity and a non-abduction theory are mutually compatible?

So what do we have then.....

The 'p' word we are not supposed to mention, even though some McCann supporters have been claiming that for years ?

A burglar(s) ?

That doesn't make sense on a variety of levels.

An abductor(s) ?

What do all three have in common ?

Oh I know, no evidence.

No independent verification either.

IMO the window and shutter were certainly opened before KM's check Steve.
Because the witness stated they were already open, and there is no evidence the witness is lying, and because it  solves the disappearance of the child from that room.

Merely because a witness makes a statement, it doesn't make it true.

Neither would it solve Madeleine's disappearance.

Where are the scuff marks  or footprints ?

(snip)
It solves the disappearance of the child from that room Steve.
The child runs out of the bedroom because someone outside is opening the shutter.

That is supposition Pegasus.

That is all you have.

Supposition, and the ability to think like a child.

If there was no burglar, then the rest of your theory is meaningless.
