As already stated, burglars just don't kidnap children.  It is very possible a local burglar lifted the shutter and slid the window across but he could hardly miss the three sleeping children within.  Had any of them woken up he would have been out of there like a rat up a drainpipe just like what happened with Mrs Fenn upstairs a few weeks earlier.

These individuals who prey on tourist accommodation in places like the Algarve are petty thieves and are well known to the local police.  They know that if they get caught and convicted that they will not serve much time in jail.  The last thing they would want to do is abduct a child because if caught they could face a substantial sentence never mind the shame and stigma of it within their own community.  I can see no circumstances where any local thief would get himself into such bother.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.

Yeah but everybody knows how all criminals escalate to the next level at the drop of a hat. Or the raising of a shutter in this instance.

A very big difference between pilfering a few tourists' trinkets to abducting an infant.

For me its like watching a magician on TV....When you see the trick you think...that's impossible...how could he have done that.   When you find out how it's done...you think....that was so simple......the solution to this disappearance is something very simple

I believe so too.  Simple and tragic.

Did you reach a conclusion?
Not really.  I happen to live at the top of perhaps the steepest hill in Luz, and after maybe 5 trips into Luz my calf muscles were screaming that enough was enough.

Heri was intending to spend his final evening here checking out the lighting situation around 5A at both the time of the reported Tanner sighting and later when she swapped with her partner.

It was one trip too far for me so I don't know what he concluded.

How would you explain the phone calls these men made to each other,  each lasting just a minute or so and coinciding with Madeleine being collected,   to where she was taken home?

I don't think the burglars would have been surprised by Madeleine being in the apartment,  they had been watching closely and knew they were in there and knew they were alone.   They could have been hired to kidnap Madeleine,   sometimes when a huge sum of money is offered it is hard for some to refuse.

I can just about believe that a burglar surprised inside a property by a screaming child might panic, put his hand over her mouth and possibly kill her by mistake.

I cannot imagine a burglar outside the property deciding to lift the child out, carry her away and then kill her in cold blood. He would just clear off. Had any of Heri's burglars shown any violent tendencies then maybe, but Mrs Fenn's burglar, for example, made no attempt to hurt her.

You seem unsure whether they were planning a burglary or an abduction Lace. Phone calls neither a burglar or abductor make imo.

First I was being ironic if that escaped your attention.
There is no evidence of anyone watching the apartment with a plan to kidnap/burgle.
The phone calls? First off in 2007 few phones had GPS facilities so location was by using triangulation off masts. Off three masts with the hand set communicating with all three simultaneously it might be possible in rural areas to locate the handset within an area of 1 sq km. If there are only two masts the accuracy decreases. So at best case you have an envelope of say 2km x 1 km. That would mean a large lump of Luz. So phone calls in that envelope would hardly be damning evidence of anything other than people where phoning each other.
Do you seriously believe someone with a shedful of dosh would buy a bootleg child rather than adopt?

"In 2012, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois ruled that an F.B.I. agent could not testify about the location of a defendant’s cell phone because the analyses did not rise to the level of trusted, replicable science. Other courts have found for the defendant after the defense attorney discredited the prosecution’s expert witness".

"Put another way, if I’m making a cell-phone call from my couch and someone commits a murder in a bar half a mile away, my cell records may serve as corroborating evidence that I took part in the crime. That might be true if I’d claimed to be in another state at the time, but those records cannot place me next to the body. What they don’t show is the precise location of a cell phone. Yet prosecutors often present those records as if they were DNA".

The phone calls corresponded with every move the McCann's made,  from picking Madeleine up to the McCann's entering the apartment,   too much of a coincidence for me.

SY are following that lead,  if they didn't know where the phone calls were coming from how come they were able to say who made them and how long they were,  plus they coincided with the movements of the McCann's.

So what was the total number of phone calls made within that period?
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.

How do you know exactly what lead they [SY] are following?
SY may run into the same problem as The FBI then where the court says the evidence is insufficiently reliable and repeatable.
If you choose to disbelieve the technical information in the links I have posted that is of course your prerogative.

The phone records in Luz 2007 did not triangulate.

There were 3 servers.

Optimus had 3 antennas, cutting Luz into a 3-way pie.

TMN and Vodafone had 2 antennas each, both cutting Luz into W v E.

If the phone records triangulated, this would have been done and dusted around 9 years ago.
