You are speaking with hindsight. Freud and the McCanns had no idea what the forensic tests had found. Whatever it was, it led to the PJ deciding to interview them as arguidos. At that moment it was not something to make facetious remarks about. Unless, of course, they knew what the results of the forensic tests were. Whatever the reason their lack of concern is surprising. For all they knew their daughter was dead.

Every action is surprising or odd ... To you
You are trying to make the facts fit your agenda
It was Freud who made the remark
He was absolutely right

freud was right about what?
Its up to police and judiciary to decide on anythng and everything  not him or the mccanns, neither of them have any say
And thats a fact lol
the mccanns thought they were running everythng from day one, those days are long gone and should  never ever have been allowed to carry on as long as they were, that was a major failure of the PT and UK  police

Given that Freud was dead, the obvious way to find out why was to go to the 5 adults who went to lunch first time round, and presumably just the McCanns for drinks, when they had been made arguidos.

I would be investigating phone calls the McCanns made to Clement Freud in July after this first meeting. How frequent were the contacts.

Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

What would you hope to glean from that?

Whether to send in the dogs for further investigation.

Bit late in the day, I would have thought.
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

You should know how unreliable these dogs are - we've been told often enough by those who think they know.

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Do you not think Pluto may have been more apposite ?

C.F. doesn't occur on any of the 223 pages of car rental lists, however ...
