The original investigation has been superseded by the new one.

And still they haven't found Madeleine or made an arrest. ooops

SY do claim to want to speak to some one as they believe this person may have information. the supporters are of the impression this will be good for the McCANNS, however, since SY didn't say it was to remove any suspicion from them, then we just have to wait and see what information this is. 8**8:/:

Do you think you can turn back the clock and press a button and it is all over?

Never heard of commonsense.

That is why the vast majority of people do in taking care of their children.

Madeleine's fate was decreed by Goncalo Amaral et al in 2007.

There are two investigative teams in the field ... still investigating.

It is becoming more and more evident there are those who have some resistance to that fact ... but fact it is  ?{)(**

Including, of course, the PJ, like Scotland Yard, no longer investigating Kate, Gerry or any of their friends.

The actual truth is, you have no idea what SY is currently doing.

and neither do Kate n Gerry.

mind you they have 'sauces' and 'friends' to keep them in the loop. ?>)()<

I mean can you really expect us to believe that SY would tell the parents we are investigating you, mmm back in reality land- if you please.

It seems some want me to think that the McCanns could have removed Maddie from the apartment without being seen but an abductor couldn't

LOL
Both are feasible.

I suspect my surmise is more accurate than your wishful-thinking.

I think most people would agree it was an incredibly badly preserved crime scene and that inevitably important forensics could have been missed or destroyed.  Where we disagree is over whose responsibility it was to preserve the crime scene.
Given that 'abductor' was 'known' from the time of Kate's alarm, whose responsibility was it to preserve the scene until the police arrived at 5A?

When did the police arrive at 5A?

Should the police have, without checking, accepted 'abduction' and ejected the McCanns onto the street in order to seal off the flat?

Should the GNR then have sat on their a***s whilst waiting for local PJ officers to arrive?  Or for a team from Lisbon to arrive?

Can we have some reality here?

Would they go through the window or simply break open the door?
Well they certainly aren't going to worry about marks.  Get in rescue the kids and get out.

Instead of guessing why not check to see what firefighters customarily do about windows in a blazing building and more to the point why they do it. It is well recorded if you care to look in the right places. I am sure a big boy like you can look it up without help from an idiot like me ................ @)(++(*

A link for anyone intent on ridiculing the notion that sometimes firemen rescue children via a window.

Reading the posts today, it becomes obvious that the argument isn't between those who believe in an Abductor and those who believe TheMcCannsDunnit but rather between those who believe the McCanns are blameless and those who believe they bear some responsibility for what happened.

Which argument are you referring to?

The police searched the apartment  on arrival and took no precautions to prevent contamination of the scene while doing so, one even leaving fingerprints.

Is it your suggestion the apartment should not have been checked?
If Kate's book is correct, the GNR first response team checked for themselves that Madeleine was not in 5A.  Then it would have been incumbent on them to rule out woke and wandered before designating it as a crime scene.

After is had been designated as a crime scene (not merely an incident scene) then entry to5A should have been restricted.  If you have any information as to when the GNR concluded it was a potential crime scene, and a list of which non-authorised persons went through it after that point, please share.  That would be of great interest.

Even if Kate did know in her heart that Madeleine had been abducted - that wouldn't stop her from hoping against hope that she was wrong.

IMO the reason Gerry checked to see if the shutters could be opened from the outside was to find out whether it was possible that Madeleine could have opened them from the inside -
They were in the first throes of every parents worst nightmare - something which it appears you have no ability even though he knew in his heart that she couldn't have done that.
to understand in the slightest.

IMO
Knew she couldn't?  According to official British paediatric stats, she was of sufficient height and weight to open the window and shutter.
