It's obvious that those words in bold above (including 'hellish lair')  are the reporters words - added to sensationalise the article.    Reporters do it all the time.

The idea that Edgar would actually say   'I have some grim theories - the most chilling one being that Madeleine is languishing  in a hellish lair'  is pure nonsense.

I agree with Davel - a good example of chinese whispers - where a person puts their own interpretation on what has been said to them.

I'm sure Dave Edgar is aware of that as am I, but as I said, unles or until a body is found these theories stay on the table.

And your point is?  Most do, but some also keep their victims for years, or is that a myth?  So if Madeleine had been abused and murdered her body would have been likely discovered quickly, the fact that it hasn't points to another scenario.

Read the link. First he says Madeleine couldn't possibly have been abducted by a paedophile then he says she probably has. He really does need to make his mind up. And you, if you request cites, really do need to read them properly.
