That is not permissible under ECHR rules. The judgement of the highest court of a member of the Council of Europe remains.

the papers are not speaking in precise legal terms..the mccanns will be arguing that the judgeemnt has deprived them of their human rights

theres been a fairly recent case posted which had been all through the portuguese courts and portugal lost in the ECHR...that is a fact...all your posts are opinion
May well be the McCanns will also win...taht is my opinion

Was that the case of the journalist? The judges were well aware of the inclination of the ECHR to uphold freedom of expression rather than 'the right to honour', and they were very careful not to do that in the case before them.

On the national instances' side there is a clear tendency to secondarily favour freedom of expression and to overestimate the right to honour.

This has caused Portugal to be condemned by the ECHR for violation of art. 10° of the European Convention on Human Rights (cf. the cases Lopes Gomes da Silva vs Portugal (2000), Urbino Rodrigues vs Portugal (2005), Roseiro Bento vs Portugal (2005). Almeida Azevedo vs Portugal (2007), Colaço Mestre vs Portugal (2007), Leonel Azevedo vs Portugal (2008), Medipress Sociedade Jornalistica. Lda. Vs Portugal (2016) and Tavares de Almeida Fernandes and Almeida Fernandes vs Portugal (2017)).

In your opinion
And in my opinion you and others who share this view are speaking absolute rubbish
And again showing your bias

From todays Sky News article:

"They also confirmed they would be appealing against the latest judgement against them in an eight-year libel battle with former detective Goncalo Amaral."

The Portuguese Supreme Court has made its decision and repelled any possibility of appeal so what is this about?

Is this yet more Brunt crap?

That's been done and dusted.  The fact that the Supreme Court dismissed the Application by the McCanns to have its decision annulled saw the end of the process.  There is no further appeal mechanism to the Supreme Court.
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

When stupid (and sometimes corrupt) human beings foul up in a way that thwarts justice, why should there not be further avenues of appeal?

Justice was done and the law obeyed.

Time to get over it.

I suppose that when the ECHR rules against them, (if it doesn't throw the case out first), they will be unjust and corrupt as well

The ECHR may well rule taht justice wasnt done....and of course you will then have to accept their decision

I was not talking about what the papers may or not have said.
I was responding to your post which said:
"They are appealing to the ECHR against the judgement".

That's right
I am repeating what the papers said
