What conclusion?   Neither case has been determined. Claudia Lawrence was an adult on her way to work while Madeleine McCann was a child who disappeared from her bed, the cases have nothing in common other than the disappearances.
Police in the CL case are treating her disappearance as a murder investigation.  Police in the MMC case are treating her disappearance as an abduction / murder.  In neither case is their any hard evidence, yet I don't suppose if I were to write about Claudia Lawrence's murder it would raise much of an eyebrow on this forum.  Mention the "A" word in the Madeleine case however and we must follow a new rule of inserting a caveat.

Whatever.

Neither does it mean it isn't.

True, so a bit of a moot point.

But the Claudia Lawrence case is not a murder investigation, it is a missing person enquiry just as Madeleine's is.
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

Launching a murder investigation does not necessarily equate to murder.
A murder investigation would be launched even it later turned out to be manslaughter or even accidental death

Or an abduction, perhaps?

Is it a new rule? I thought posting opinion as fact was already frowned upon? It probably wasn't enforced as much as it could have been, but it was regularly commented on.
Read and abide by the forum rules.

I'll do my best.
I hope you and the other members will let me know if or when I'm failing.
