Firstly Isabel Duarte and Clarence Mitchell are paid so no need for thanks. Supporters cover their forum and media person ( I assume you mean their Facebook webmistress who is unpaid and  does as little ‘awareness raising’ as that sum suggests.

They obviously think thanking the Met publicly is appropriate as they get their paid mouthpiece to do it yet while millions of pounds and many man hours are being spent on this case they could not force themselves to write a personal thank you, within a message that is already being publicised, to the people who are making that possible.

Odd IMO.

Mr McCann also expressed his family's gratitude that the Metropolitan Police team investigating Madeleine's disappearance has now moved on to a 'very active' phase in its inquiry.

Ah 2014, just before Nicola Wall arrived. Then there’s this from 2015

‘28 October, 2015 - Update

We would like to thank all the staff from Operation Grange for the meticulous and painstaking work that they have carried out over the last four and a half years.

The scale and difficulty of their task has never been in doubt. We are reassured that the investigation to find Madeleine has been significantly progressed and the MPS has a much clearer picture of the events in PDL leading up to Madeleine’s abduction in 2007.

Given that the review phase of the investigation is essentially completed, we fully understand the reasons why the team is being reduced. We would also like to thank the Home Office for continuing to support the investigation.

Whilst we do not know what happened to Madeleine, we remain hopeful that she may still be found given the ongoing lines of enquiry.

Gerry and Kate’

So no direct word of thanks for around two and a half years. Odd.

Not in the least. I think the Met know exactly why they aren’t being publicly thanked.
Oh, why do you think that?

Perhaps you could reproduce here all subsequent messages of gratitude written directly by the McCanns so we can examine them in greater detail?  I assume you have them collated for easy reference?

As the Met are meeting with the McCann's and constantly bringing them up to date,   would it be too much to presume that the McCann's thank them when they visit?

And I’m sure they did that before October 2015 but still thanked them publicly too.

From the point of view of the police what difference do you think it makes if the McCanns thank them publicly in person instead of expressing words of gratitude via their “hired help”?

Yes, the McCanns can be added to that list too.  How many of those on your list thanked the police directly and publicly on a regular basis?

How many of those on the list get regular help and funding from the police ?

Ad hominem and ditto.
Tell me Faithlilly, is it your belief that the McCanns have not thanked the police directly because they are unhappy at the direction the investigation has taken?
