That's clearly not the case since JW/BO knew.
So why do you insist the tip off came from PF?  Maybe BO and JW dunnit, after all what was he doing so close to the apartment that night eh?  Casing the joint prolly.   8(>((

Thanks Holly, if you consider Pamela Fenn and what she thought she heard and relaying that information to her friend, Edna Glyn, you have to consider who the person was Edna Glyn shared this information with? Was it perhaps, Mrs Murat?

I've no idea who knew who and who might have overheard.

Consider this...Maybe EG had a gardener call on her the morning after PF's tel call to tend to her own garden.  She then tells the gardener she is tired due to a late night tell call from her friend and relays the tel conversation.  The gardener is familiar with PF as he tends to the gardens at OC therefore he is then in the know that a child is home alone in the evenings in an unsecured apartment under PF.
Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

I don't believe PF knowingly tipped off anyone but she may have inadvertently alerted someone directly or indirectly to the fact young children were home alone in an unsecured apartment.

Games of chance for prizes are basically illegal in Portugal.

A police 'raid' on Kelly's led to fines for all those participating, and rather large fines for those organising it.  The prizes were chocolate biscuits.
What's up, old man?

This is all so unkind and completely defeats me on occasions.  None of you actually care about Madeleine.  You just want to rip her Mother to pieces.

Could someone like me solve this case?  Probably not.  I don't have enough information.  And I would never be crass enough to think that I could.

And everyone who read about this many moons ago fell about laughing.  What a State.

It seems it was common knowledge amongst many that the children were being left home alone

There are currently circa 7.7 billion humans on the planet.  How many do you think knew MM was 'home alone' in the unsecured apartment Sun - Thu incl?

What an odd statement.....it was common knowledge at the OC that the children were home alone

And how many knew the patio doors were unsecured?

No one is going to think parents are leaving children 'home alone' in an unsecured apartment.

Hmmm let me think...child disappears from holiday apartment...parents out night after night...doors unlocked...elderly retired lady lives above...loads of time on her hands to observe comings and goings...sees family during the day...hears child crying at night for some 1.25 hours...crying stops when she hears patio doors open...assumes parents returning...she deduces parents are dining at tapas and leaving patio doors unsecured...shares this knowledge with local friend and ???!!!
