Beggars belief that he was able to keep his job.
I don't think that given the circumstances the same senior officer should have investigated both cases.  Particularly as his investigative methods seemed to be concerned more with prosecuting the mother than investigating kidnap.

Of interest to me was the more recent corruption in football prosecution where it was determined that large financial deposits were paid into the bank accounts of innocent parties apparently without their knowledge. (Cardinal case)
A GNR officer involved in Madeleine's case was the recipient of similar large deposits.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

barrier the patio door was left unsecured on the night of MM's disappearance. I've always said from the off imo it is absolutely key to the case.  Now we discover an unidentified fingerprint was indeed found on the side of the patio door and all that surrounds it in terms of GNR wit stats, comment from fingerprint analyst in Germany, and communication between fingerprint analyst in Portugal and GA is all highly, highly suspicious.

There is a suggestion the abduction is staged, the unlocked patio door lends itself to this as well.
The unidentified finger print is important to posters not the investigators,I'll repeat do you seriously think £12 million of brit money has not got beyond that.

I feel certain that had GA been found guilty in UK he would have been sacked.

I will have a little Google re the other case you mention.
Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

But we have Mrs Fenn's evidence from 1st May about hearing the patio doors open and the crying coming to an abrupt end so I don't think there's any doubt the McCanns were exiting and entering via the patio doors every evening.  Then we have JW's testimony form 3rd May where he states GM had just left 5A from the stairs/gate.

Well I have not seen this aspect of the fingerprint discussed here or elsewhere so its quite possible that OG have not explored the fingerprint in any great detail, yes.  Why would they think the fingerprint important when the files from the PJ inveistigation write it off as belonging to a male GNR officer?

Cristovao.  His henchman was caught on CCTV, depositing the money on the instructions of Cristovao.

There was much more than a 'suggestion' more I would say of a fixation of the man who initially should have had an open mind but chose instead to theorise and publicise his theory to the exclusion of all others at the time of Madeleine's disappearance and in all the years following.
Hardly surprising his investigation failed to meet with simple solutions which obviously met with the evidence which he had overlooked in pursuit of the discredited theories he espoused and promoted.
Scotland Yard and the Judicial police separately reviewed Madeleine's disappearance and found enough neglected evidence to reopen Madeleine's case in 2013 which remains open and active till the present day.
So that evidence suggests that there was evidence of abduction which was found when looked for but when the wrong investigative track ruling out abduction was followed by investigators in 2007 evidence wasn't looked for and therefore although existing was not found.

Still nothing to suggest from either investigation, Amaral was wrong, the PJ are open minded to what happened unlike like the blinkered Brits.

Martin Brunt:Do you accept the girl was abducted.

Pedro Do Carmo:We don't know what happened and have to be prepared to deal with different scenarios.

There is plenty of evidence that Amaral told fibs in the process of grandstanding his theory.

Go figure why both Investigations are keeping quiet.  It's quite simple.

Amaral should have been sacked the minute he was convicted of Perjury.
