so how does your post re gollum fit in with that
That has nothing to do with the mcCanns and your view of them, but your attitude to the other members of this forum.  I think the General was making the same point.

For the sake of balance I have to point out that you have a habit of insulting others.

Not really.  It is just Carli's opinion.

You will have to take that up with John.

I rarely Delete anything, as you will know if you follow Deleted and Modified Comments, and I don't Comment all that much either.

Brietta has recently been involved with moving house and has had intermittent Internet.  She will be back.

Both of us have been Moderating this Forum for a lot longer than you have and do have a better understanding of the dynamics, to which we both pay attention.

I have never Deleted a Comment simply because of an opinion that is averse to mine.  You may believe that or not, as you wish.  It happens to be a point of honour to me.

This the only McCann Forum which allows both opinions, and it is of importance to me that it should survive.

I'm around quite a bit, Eleanor, as is Slarti, although I am still very busy with 'real life'.

I agree with you wholeheartedly about the importance of this forum.  I think it is unique in allowing non-sceptic posters to have an opinion and to express it in public.
I think in the main it is exactly that that causes the opprobrium.
Whereas sceptic posters are somewhat spoiled for choice whatever social media one cares to visit.

Long may the ethos of this forum continue and John is to be congratulated in his vision in starting it and keeping it going.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

That I'm a Martyr, do you mean?  A Religious Zealot who would die for The McCanns?

However, mayhap Carly doesn't understand what the term means.

I think you might be right about what causes the opprobrium.  How dare I support two child neglecting parents when I did much the same myself.
One does not get that opportunity elsewhere.

On the other hand those who don't support the McCanns have also suffered opprobrium.
