Jeremy Bamber's former pal Brett Collins breaks his silence after 35 years.

Firstly BC's recent account is entirely different to the one he is quoted as giving some 34 years ago. Secondly we are not hearing from him direct.  How reliable is the source?  Even if it is reliable I can appreciate where he's coming from.  He will find it difficult to understand how JB is still behind bars if he's innocent and then there's JB's obvious BS about an alibi.

BC couldn't wait to get back to NZ after Jeremy was arrested, he has kept silent, choosing NOT to defend Jeremy for 34 years. He was the closest person to him after the murders and is certainly better positioned to comment on what Jeremy was like. He had to to reflect after making his first statement and if he still felt the same now, then there would be no reason for the revision.

So, Brett has spoken out, also there is an article in the Sun about Julie (some reporter managed to track her down). Colin and CAL have contributed to the ITV series (or, at least, their books have), and I have heard on the grapevine that Roger Wilkes is going to reissue his book .

Are they all just  cashing in, or are they afraid that Jeremy might win an appeal ?

Interesting stuff, but it's going to take more than Brett Collins to get me off the fence!

I thought Paul Harrison tracked down JB and contributed to his book published in 2015?

He did by phone (allegedly!) and Brett told him much the same story as in the Mirror - that he'd changed his mind!

I always wondered why Brett Collins refused to speak publicly about Jeremy Bamber given all he knew about him but to his credit he has done it at last.  Undoubtedly, Bamber will be furious about this final betrayal but it was only a matter of time.

Jeremy Bamber's latest musings about an alibi has only one aim and that is to keep him in the public eye.

According to CAL's book, BC was interviewed in Australia post trial:

In Australia, Brett gave an interview to the press, declaring that he was 'absolutely shattered' by the verdict and would continue to believe in Jeremy's innocence until he heard otherwise from him."

The source is CP's book so not sure how reliable it is.

There was a difference, PH claimed that someone 'calling themselves' BC contacted him. Todays article is quoting BC and has up to date pictures.

Yes I appreciate that but I don't take at face value journo's and book authors.  I was referring to PH's claims in general contained in his book re JB and claims in the Scottish DE re death threats.

I read PH's book re the boy under the stairs and imo I would say he is mentally unwell.

Where's the evidence NB bought the Anschutz for JB?  JB didn't have a firearms licence (when he could have done) and I'm not aware of him going on shoots?  Of course he would understand that vermin and bunnies needed controlling to preserve crops.

Conversley SC and CC went beating which is all about getting pheasants to fly up for the shooters!

I wonder if all those who, 30+ years ago held he was innocent, are still of the same mind? People do change their minds.
