Just imagine how embarrassing it would be if it were to be discovered that someone had spent 35 years in prison for something he didn't do.  Imagine what a fuss the "supporters" would make!

You would have to imagine it because it isn't reality.

How are offenders released on licence being managed under MAPPA currently?
I have absolutely no idea, how does that relate to my question?

It wouldn’t be the first time.  Are you suggesting our judicial system is really that corrupt?

I would suggest it is incompetent rather than corrupt on the basis of what appeal court judges said about other moj's

Stefan Kizsko

"We can find no grounds whatsoever to condemn the jury's verdict of murder as in any way safe or unsatisfactory.  The appeal is dismissed".  Lord Justice Bridge.

Stephen Downing

"The court felt that her evidence was not credible and secure enough to allow an appeal against the conviction".

Sally Clarke

"Despite recognition of the flaws in Meadow's statistical evidence, the convictions were upheld at appeal in October 2000."

Guildford Four

"Both the Guildford Four and the Maguire Seven unsuccessfully sought leave to appeal their convictions immediately".

"The Guildford Four tried to obtain from the Home Secretary a reference to the Court of Appeal under Section 17 of Criminal Appeal Act 1968 (later repeled) but were unsuccessful.

Birmingham 6

"In March 1976 their first application for leave to appeal was dismissed by the Court of Appeal, presided over by Lord Widgery CJ".

"In January 1988 after a six week hearing (at that time the longest criminal hearing ever held), the convictions were ruled to be safe and satisfactory.  The Court of Appeal, presided over by the Lord Chief Justice Lord Lane dismissed the appeals".
Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

Thanks for showing that no amount of embarrassment would prevent a court from overturning an unsafe judgement if evidence is presented to show that it is unsafe.

Bamber goes to collect his dads wallet knowing where it is and what's in it on his every first visit back to WHF - he must have known where it was to know it was missing but that is the same as Ann asking for a keepsake for her mum during a discussion on things being valued for sale? Seriously? You're going with that?

As I understand it the relatives had already established NB's empty wallet along with an absence of cash in June's handbags and any cash anywhere within WHF?  This doesn't ring true especially mid 80's:

- JB

- Dishonest police officer(s)

- Relatives

So you'd have been happy if he'd walked?

I'd have been happy to see an efficient investigation and a trial with more dependable evidence.

When I read your post, “On what grounds would someone not dare release him?” I wrongly thought you were a supporter suggesting Bamber be released due to the Covid-19 crisis.

I made no such claim. I merely pointed out that Jeremy Bamber wasn't the only family member showing an interest in 'the spoils'. I assume Nevill bought or acquired June's engagement ring, so it had nothing to do with June's family.

Colin Caffell mentions Jeremy's feelings; he described his relatives as 'a load of f*****g magpies' nattering about his mother's jewellery and the farm. [In Search...page 64-5] According to Mr Cock in his w/s dated 16/09/85 Ann requested his presence at WHF on 10th, saying Jeremy had asked her to arrange it. [CAL page 222] I think that's unlikely, given his vews as expressed to Colin on the same weekend.

Have you got a link for that, G-Unit?

I’ve read Colin Caffell’s book and don’t recall ever seeing him using the F word...nor calling the family “F**** Magpies”

What can you put in a coffin for cremation?

Items such as wooden rosary beads, flowers, soft toys and written messages can be placed inside someone’s coffin for cremation.

Jewellery items can also be cremated, but cannot be recovered after a cremation has happened. If you want to keep items of sentimental value placed in the coffin, be sure to let your funeral director know, so these can be recovered before the cremation and returned to you.

G-Unit, the funeral directors did indeed remive the jewellery’s Jeremy insisted be burnt with them, and gave then to their loved ones...

What was the point in the acting to the contrary then?

Sorry, I don't understand your question...

Contrary to what?

Quite possibly, but it seems the wider family were hardly uninterested. Didn't Barbara Wilson make some accusations about Peter Easton's behaviour?

If you mean the family were disinterested in Jeremy Bamber’s behaviour, that was possibly due to respect for Nevill and June who tried to hide his appalling and disgusting doings.

Barbara Wilson mentioned a family argument YEARS after Jeremy Bamber killed his family, which involved petty quarrels over the sale of spuds, some old tractor part and a couple of other minor things... it had nothing to do with Jeremy Bamber shooting dead all his family

I’d hardly call expensive antiques: medals Nevill won in the RAF; paintings commissioned for the Speakman’s etc as “spoils”!

These weren’t “tat” — Sotheby’s bought them!

Nevill came from a wealthy family too, dear, so I doubt he gave her a cheap little engagement ring. Maybe you can’t see or feel the connection, but as June wore that ring for around 40 years, it was very much a part of her...which made it precious to her very close family.

Strange, eh, that Jeremy didn’t want that — just as Prince Willian cherished Princess Diana’s ring which he gave to Kate on their engagement?

You may not understand sentimentality, but it’s almost unheard of to have a loved one cremated wearing precious jewellery..

Colin Caffell made a good point: he suggested that Jeremy wanted all their jewellery burnt too as he was wary about psychics who “read” jewellery...Jeremy rubbed his hands with glee when he thought all three had been burnt with their jewellery.

Don’t you find that strange?

I don't think he was motivated by anything other than greed.  If he had any real issues at all with his parents why on earth was he still there living off them?
His sister and her twins were impediments between him and what he thought was his rightful inheritance at the time he had decided his parents had outlived their usefulness.  The horror he visited on the adults is bad enough but to slaughter two innocent boys full of life and love really does mark his crime as off the scale.

Absolutely!

And what a coincidence that it was soon after June and Nevill had added the twins’ to their will, that Jeremy began plotting to kill them all...

He even asked Colin (albeit casually) if he would inherit from his sons!
