Do we know, for sure, whether or not the twins were mentioned by name in June's and Nevill's wills? I remember reading somewhere that Jeremy suspected they were. Is that why he "snooped" and looked at the wills, does anyone know?
"Asked if he could recall whether the twins were mentioned in the wills, Jeremy replied: ‘I don’t remember. I think they are but I’m not sure, but certainly not in name.’24 The actual wills, drawn up in 1979, largely bear out his assertions. June stipulated that any loan to Sheila and Colin was to be written off and that her share of Osea Road would go to Sheila on the understanding that the company would manage it for her. The rest would pass to Jeremy when he reached the age of twenty-five. In his will, Nevill bequeathed Bourtree Cottage and other personal effects to June. Apart from some small financial gifts, the bulk of his estate was to go to Jeremy, on one condition: ‘If my son, Jeremy Nevill Bamber, is, in the opinion of my trustees, farming with me at the date of my death, or the date of the death of my wife, whichever is the later, and/or they are reasonably satisfied that he intends to carry on farming thereafter, then subject to a legacy of £10,000 to my daughter Sheila Jean Caffell, the remainder of my residuary estate shall go to my said son."
