It comes after a nanny who looked after the toddler at the resort where she went missing said she was also shown the German paedophile’s photo and told his name by investigating officers.

This happened on May 8, 2007 – five days after Madeleine vanished from her family’s holiday apartment in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz.

The nanny told the Mirror yesterday: “I was shown identikits the day after they took my statement [about her time with Madeleine].

“I recognised a few people from just being about… one guy I recognised was a known paedophile who later committed suicide.

"I am aware of his [Brueckner’s] name and face from photos I was shown but I don’t think I remember having seen him in real life.

"I’m aware police knew of guys like this in Praia da Luz at the time

Does anyone else in here remember Antonio Toscano. Not his witness statement that we all can find but the actual story he was coming with at first. That he went to 'Frenchman's' house on the border between Germany and France where he was shown videos for sale. The character he described matches CBs character and also his actions. I think this story was published in Spanish media first and then translated to us.
This article is somehow matching what we are hearing about CB now. Could it be that Antonio Toscano made up the Frenchman and the house on German border and that all actually happened in PDL?
Otherwise, it is a strange coincidence. Could it be that AT was silenced before giving his statement? Because his statement is very much different to what he was saying at the beginning.
