In this instance, the situation seems to be that he wouldn't confirm or deny (neutral). She may have over-interpreted a non-denial as being an implicit confirmation.

I’m talking about her piece to camera in the Netflix documentary where she claims that she was sold a false narrative by Amaral.

And yes I think she may have over-interpreted the answers to her questions. I’m afraid that often happens when you put ambition before proper research.

She really isn’t very discerning when it comes to information given by sources and she certainly doesn’t learn. This is just like the 100% DNA match claim which fooled her 15 years ago. Getting older obviously doesn’t always make you wiser.

An item belonging to Madeleine McCann has been found in a camper van belonging to a German paedophile accused of abducting the young British girl 15 years ago, it was claimed last night.

Sandra Felgueiras, a Portuguese television presenter who has covered the case for several years, claimed a local police source had told her that one of Madeleine’s possessions had turned up in a fresh search of Brückner’s old VW camper van.

She asked HCW the question, it’s what investigative reporters do, or do you think she should not have asked him about info she may have received?  Has she claimed that fibres were found?  No.  Has anything been found?  Time will tell.

Sandra Felgueiras is one of the foremost investigative journalist of our time.

She went from sceptic Hero ~ when she asked Gerry some very tough questions based on information fed to her by Amaral, one of her sources;  to Zero ~ when she revealed to the world the perfidious liar Amaral actually is.

She is a realist who deplores the intellectual dishonesty of Amaral's discredited - outdated - and false theory, which he has managed to convince some of and which they have believed and promulgated for over fifteen years.


The fact is the Portuguese Judicial Police has only one defendant in this case.  That suspect is Brueckner.

Felgueiras is aware that very often the emergence of truth doesn't please, but when it is the only option it must be reported by journalists of integrity despite the desperate rear guard defence by Amaral of his past speculations which at the time and for years, destroyed any case that might have been made against a local sexual deviant hiding in full view.
