I really don’t think that Madeleine was ever in the hire car and any DNA of hers or indeed cadaver odour that was detected was obviously cross contamination.

Amaral ceased to be relevant to this case many years ago and while he admittedly made many mistakes it is interesting that his successor Rebelo very much followed the path Amaral had begun by inviting the McCann party to Portugal, an invitation which was rejected, and focusing again on questioning the Tapas friends.

OH I don't believe Maddie was abducted....but you have to be fair to those who think she was VS

G.A never got chance to carry on so he would have probably worked it out....we will never know.

Anyroads my thoughts of G.A....... is I believe he he was on the right track.

The key.is the window.......was it open when kmc checked at 10

The status of the window whether open or whether closed is an irrelevance. What is of relevance is the fact that a child was missing from her bed.

Amaral was twelve years behind the times in releasing convicted paedophile Christian Bruekner's name into the relevant box; but true to form refused to recognise the significance of the equation regarding missing child/paedophile on the loose.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

According to Gonçalo Amaral the Freezer was in an empty flat close by and he was just about to expose it when he got distracted by God knows what.

Might the distraction have been his drunken slurs causing a diplomatic incident between England and Portugal; or was it his criminal conviction for perjury/falsifying documents to cover up the torture and beating up of a female prisoner to her severe injury, or was it a combination of both

How come defrosted bodily fluids were found in the hire car then?  If they weren’t Madeleine’s whose were they?

One would think Amaral was following the Scotland Yard playbook, the methods are uncannily similar.
And she didn't have a 'severe injury', she received a 'doing' from fellow prisoners by way of a welcome to the unit extended to all child abusers / killers. Just a bit of rough and tumble.

It's a rum bunch who would rather protect the guilty parent of an abused and murdered child than the child themselves but I suppose it takes all sorts.

Quite possibly, but I so then obviously none of work mates thought it was important or even likely.

Could possibly be they had to leave it there...an no longer follow that  line of the investigation.

Ah, but they were under the cosh of the Brits by then, don’t forget.  The PJ weren’t strong enough stand up to their McCann protrcting agenda, which is very unfortunate.

Just more or less said the same thing.

Its's not an irrelevance though imo.............if that window was staged so was everything else.

The thing is here [G.A. wasn't there] but people die in the UK in police custody.

Not saying its ok.....just saying it happens in all police forces ...at least he was convicted.

It seems not many  are in UK an I believe not many police forces also.

Just one example.....there is more. he what was his crime

Christopher, a 37-year-old former paratrooper decorated for service in Northern Ireland, died in police custody at Queens Garden police station on April 1, 1998. He had been arrested for becoming "aggressive" in hospital after he was punched outside a Hull nightclub.

What happened to Christopher Alder?
In August 2000, an inquest jury ruled that Christopher had been unlawfully killed. No-one has been held accountable for his death, with five Humberside Police officers being cleared of manslaughter and misconduct in a public office charges at a criminal trial two years later.30 Mar 2023

He died face down with his trousers around his ankles and his hands cuffed behind his back. CCTV footage from the custody suite captured officers making what were alleged to be monkey noises as Christopher appeared to lay dead on the floor.

The rest of the world and indeed the criminal investigation has moved on from the good old bad old days. There is a coterie which has invested a lot of time and effort in promoting impossible conspiracy theories.
That's fine if they don't interfere with the process of rational thinking and they really don't.

Haven't you noticed that Amaral has vanished from the airwaves after his last stalwart defence of criminality; nobody listens to him anymore.
Anyone who matters has moved with the times and the evidence which was ignored or was unrecognised by Amaral's botched investigation.

Of relevance to the mismanagement of Madeleine's case is that from day one, the lead detective was himself under investigation for the torture of a prisoner in another missing child case from a village on the outskirts of Luz.

As a result Amaral was removed from Madeleine's investigation, but not unfortunately before irreparable damage has been done.

Yes ......you said.....so will repeat what supreme police force are you exactly comparing him with as if these things don't go on elsewhere

How has the world moved on...speak for yourself on that

Do we know where maddie is.....NO.

Do we know what happened to Maddie .....NO.

You may think its moved on with the endless suspects....but in reality mothing more is known than the 3ed May

Why should I be interested wether G.A. is a has been. It doesn't alter the fact I believe he was on the right track.

Mr Amaral was originally the lead detective on the case, but he was removed after criticising British police.

In the news or not ..............he has never been proved wrong or what he thinks happened.

Kate and Gerry McCann lost latest round of legal battle with Goncalo Amaral
Ex-police chief said the couple 'remain suspects' over Maddie's disappearance
Pair had sued cop for libel after he published a book suggesting they were involved in the disappearance of daughter Madeleine in 2007

Nothing changed since then it seems.
