You'll notice the sighting is away from the apartment. An argument given is that it makes no sense he could move her with people searching & the chaos but all the searching first took place around the pool, the back of the apartment area. I believe Gerry left the immediate area & searched alone in the direction of the sighting.

There are 5 people searching in the immediate aftermath of Kate raising the alarm.

Fiona, Matt, David, Russell, Gerry.

Dianne stays at the table.

Kate sat in apartment 5a.

Jane Tanner in her apartment.

Rachel goes to her apartment.

5 are searching from 10pm approx to 10:10 but if you read the rogs, none of them place Gerry as being with them. He disappears like his daughter & around this same time period the Smiths encounter a Gerrylike coincidental trousers man, uncomfortably carrying a very disabled Maddie twin, dressed in the wrong pyjamas.

And, the McCanns made no effort at all to call the police. It took Fiona to tell Matt to go to reception, but he didn't know all the details to tell reception & the police like the open window, which proved to the McCann couple that Madeleine was definitely abducted & hadn't wandered off on her own. Kate sat in the apartment cursing about 'the f..king b........s' that had taken her, & Gerry seemed to have go somewhere in a hurry & disappeared, but neither of them made any attempt at all to call the police & report the abduction, which was definitely an abduction. Really, it was.

It's all too late but there are various bars, restaurants that would have had commercial bins. It's all complete guess work. From this aerial photo you can see the space between the apartment & the Smith sighting. So I believe on Gerry's unusually long 9pm check she was moved from the apartment hidden somewhere toward the sighting & later recovered.

Ah! So there is actually a large piece of waste ground on Smithmans route then, Spam?
I didn't notice that before!

Yes, a building site & there are gardens & bushes in that direction. Plenty of places where it might be possible to hide a deceased child for a while on a dark quiet evening during early season when there are few people around.

A couple of things to note about this piece of wasteland- it is completely surrounded by a chain link fence which would be tricky to climb over and back again with a corpse.  It also has bins beside it, which raises the question why on earth having gotten away with moving the body once onto wasteleand (which you had to climb over a fence to access when there was a perfectly good bin sitting there invitingly next to it) why would you then bother risking a second move by climbing back over the fence to then carry the body all the way through town to look for a bin in the busiest area?
Nevertheless, lovely to have a map of Gerry?s supposed route.  So if the yellow route takes 5 minutes to walk, perhaps we can work out how long the red route would have taken him, then we can actually work out when the alarm was raised, which then means we can work out when Kate left the table and then we can try and work out how to cram all the other comings and goings we know about that evening into the much reduced time frame to create a new fantasy timeline to enable Gerry to be Smithman.

Maybe he used the bin, then wanted to move her further from the apartment. It's all speculation. But, it's supported by timeline evidence, Gerry's unusually long check at 9pm, Kate raising the alarm before 10pm, in the indiscernible timeline, Gerry searching alone, McCanns not bothering to call the police & a sighting of coincidental trousers & wrong pyjamas. Remind us, what was your theory based on again? Can you make Brueckner fit where this sighting of Gerry goes & support it with evidence, like I have?

'a new fantasy timeline'

Tell us the tmeline then VS. What time precisely did Kate come screaming? How long was she in the apartment? Gerry reckoned 10 minutes. That seems a reasonable amount of time for her to search a tiny apartment when the window had alerted her that Madeleine was dragged out of it by paedos?

Was the site searched with dogs in the days following the disappearance, Vertigo?

I don?t honestly know.  Tracker dogs did follow Madeleines?s scent into a nearby carpark in the opposite direction where the their trail went dead which suggests (but of course does not prove before I?m mercilessly trolled) that she may have been taken away in a vehicle.

And while Maddie was being bundled into Brueckners getaway van, the Smiths happened to encounter this Gerrylike man with coincidental trousers & a child closely matching Madeleine's description. What are the chances?

Like I said before, supporters have to exclude a whole families evidence to make any abduction scenario work, as well as simply ignore the massive discrepancy in the timeline.

Do you think Gerry had a bin earmarked to dump Maddie in, or did he just play it by ear, Spam?

No idea. Any answer to that would be all guesswork.

There would have been several bins between the Apartment and beyond the spot where Smithman was seen so it is a mystery why it would have been necessary to move the body a further few hundred metres down from the wasteland.  Actually it?s not a mystery at all. It had to be a bin to explain why no body was ever found and it had to be moved twice to explain why the rest of the Tapas group found no body when they dashed to the Apartment after the alarm was raised.  Unfortunately there is not a smidge of evidence for bin or wasteland disposal.  It?s all guesswork, and not very logical guesswork at that.
