Then admitted they left the children unattended!!  So what was the real reason for the friends to cover it up? Nothing at all.  They just love a conspiracy.

I don?t imagine for a moment that the parents or any of the tapas party regularly drugged their children but perhaps only on this occasion? Kate constantly checking that the twins were breathing ( according to Fiona Payne) but not insisting that they be checked out at hospital. That?s odd especially as she could have had no idea what they may have been given. The fact that one of their children had been injured while they were absent may, legally, have been harmful enough to their careers and reputations but if drugs had also been found at a postmortem can you imagine the consequences. A contrived abduction really was their only choice.

No, when the alarm was raised no one knows how far away Madeleine was at that point, where are you getting 500 yards from?
The Smiths (there were 9 of them in total) found out a child had gone missing when they got up the next day, thought the child they saw might have been Madeleine but they did not report their sighting until three weeks later, after they had returned to Ireland.  This is negligent behaviour IMO.  Where they were staying I have no idea but they were walking in the direction of the Ocean Club in the opposite direction to Smithman who was walking towards the beach.

The ten-fifteen minutes is how long it would have taken for Maddies abductor to walk 500 yards from the McCanns apartment to the spot he was seen by the Smiths! Right?  500yards= 10-15 minute walk!
Hence Maddie was 500yards away when the alarm was raised and was abducted between 9.45-9.50.

Of course it would take about five minutes for a kidnapper to stealthily enter the McCanns apartment, subdue[drug Maddie] and leave again!
So 'if' the Smiths saw Maddie at 10.00 then her abductor must have entered the apartment between 9.40- 9.45.
That must have been soon after Matthew whatsname checked on her, although he didn't actually check on her, did he?

So! If the Smiths did see Maddie at 10.00 and it was Gerry carrying her, then again, he must have left the apartment with Maddie around 9.45!
Is there any evidence that Gerry went to check on Maddie around 9.45?
And of course it means he wouldn't have got back to the tapas bar until about 10.15.
And of course we don't know how much further Maddie was taken after the Smiths saw her?
If it was Gerry, the longer the distance he took before dumping her, the longer it would take to get back obviously!
If it was Bruekner or Eleoner's Yacht owner, they wouldn't be returning at all of course!
