You may well be right, Spam, its just what the video claimed!

They were old anyway & now they're another 19 years older still. They've probably got hearing aids & walking canes & colostomy bags & stuff. Anyone over the age of sixty is totally past it to me because I'm only just into my 40's.

Anyway, where were we? The movement of the bedroom door. At 9pm Mr McCann noticed the bedroom door was open further than he'd left it. He felt it significant enough that it caused him to investigate & carry out his first visual check of the week. He stated Madeleine was laying where he'd left her. So,the abductor has to have been inside the apartment before & during his check. Any abduction theory has to account for this & the open window later on. Someone will probably suggest the draft moved the door when Gerry opened the patio door, but it would have been the first time that week it had happened. Conveniently. Another convenient breeze like Kate's later on, but that never presented itself to Matt

According to Kizzy's video, Matt got in on the act too, suggesting that the bedroom was lighted up, probably because the shutters were raised!

I haven't watched any commentary videos on the case by youtubers or anything tbh. I don't really need to hear crazy theories about Maddie being moved in the hire car. All the members of the group being involved or anything that takes any major speculation. For me the equation is self explanatory. Either there's a child abductor out there who resembles Gerry, dresses like him & who snatched Maddie in a complicated manner involving spending time inside the apartment, faffing around with doors & windows & changing Madeleine's pyjamas, or, the McCanns did it. Which, kind of makes it obvious the Mccanns did it really.

Kizzy's video said they were in their 50's at the time of the sighting Spam! if true, that would mean they're pushing 80!
Smith was 58 at the time.  His wife has since died.

Thanks, Vertigo! sorry to hear that!
So Mr Smith is indeed around 77 now then?

Joe, you are immersing yourself in youtube nonsense which really won?t help you make sense of the case, only plunge you down a highly bonkers conspiracy rabbit hole.  I hope you don?t mind me saying so.  If you want to interrogate details of the case and get an impartial and logical reading of the facts I highly recommend spending some time interacting with Chat GPT.  It is a useful tool, not infallible but the overall gist is pretty sound from the interaction I?ve had with it wrt to this case.  If it tells you something you think is incorrect or that you disagree with you can say so and it will answer without sneering or calling you a moron which is always a bonus!

I suppose it does.  One of the mind blowing things about this case from a personal perspective is that I started discussing this case in June 2007 when my son was in nursery school.  He?s now been a graduate for two years. He was inthe same academic year as Madeleine would have been.  Sad.

Yes, I do use Grok over on Twitter, Vertigo, I agree these tools are useful!

It outright lies. It can't be fully trusted, its a bit like the McCanns. It'll make things up if it doesn't have the answer. It told me Smith had recanted when he hadn't. It told me the McCanns contacted the police almost immediately when they weren't actually called for 40 minutes. It has it's uses but it doesn't really have a clue about some of the basics of this case. Like how it conveniently ignored the window evidence then went off on a flight of fantasy about the rest of it's theory regardless.

The window wasn't open on Gerry's check, & when he entered the apartment he didn't report that the child gate etc were lying open. So how did the abductor get in the apartment? He must have entered through the patio doors, closed everything behind him & shut himself in the apartment before Gerry had entered. Then somehow he realised Gerry was coming. Don't know how? And he hid somewhere in the apartment during Gerry's extra long check.

Anyway. This part. It hasn't been explained. The abductor shut himself in the apartment, if you account for the details, then moved the bedroom door, then hid before Gerry came in. So how did the abductor know Gerry was coming? Can anyone suggest an explanation for this?

Chat has just outright lied to me again. I said to it that the abductor had to be inside the apartment because of the movement of the bedroom door before Gerry's check. It told me that Gerry had attributed this to a draft or breeze but when I asked it for an exact quote from Gerry saying any such thing it changed it's mind & admitted there was no such quote. Jesus wept.

If it doesn't have the right answer it just lies. It can't even get the basics of the case right. AI might be good one day but at the moment it really is a work in progress isn't it.

I posted large chunks of my conversation with Chat GPT about the case yesterday so if there were any inaccuracies feel free to point them out below and I will take it up with AI today.  Meanwhile if anyone can get AI to agree that the most plausible and logical theory to explain Madeleine?s disappearance is that Gerry carried her body through town after Kate raised the alarm I am all ears and eyes, feel free to post below also.

AI is an impartial and objective tool designed to help make sense of things and not bound by childish allegiances to years-long held sides in this case.  I can understand why it infuriates those whose cherished views it does not support but that?s their problem, bad workmen (or in this case bad thinkers) always blame their tools.

Now I?m not wasting another day trying to help the intellectually challenged understand why their logic is so flawed, and their reasoning so like that of a toddler, it?s sunny outside and today could be our last day on Earth.  Imagine wasting it arguing about buttons and sleeves!
