There?s more chance of Spam setting up a McCann fan club than there is of him dismissing the buttons, he?s mentioned them in virtually every post he?s written in the last few weeks.  The whole case pivots on the buttons, if we?re to believe his nonsense.

Not really. There's the evidence the alarm was raised before 10pm. Then evidence Gerry went off searching, somewhere, & then evidence that around the same incomplete time period a Gerrylike man was seen uncomfortably carrying a very deeply sleeping Madeleine twin, dressed in long sleeved pyjamas Kate was wishing she was wearing. He took the inert child whom Mary thought might be doing something other than sleeping, off into the night never to be seen again.

I've no idea where he moved her to during his unusually long check, probably somewhere in the direction of the wasteland but he was later seen by the Smiths so join the dots really.

And Jeremy couldn't give a precise time either but he said he only spoke to Gerry for a few minutes.

Spam are you saying Gerry hid Madeleine on waste ground?   How he didn't have a spade.

No. Somewhere in that direction though maybe.

I suppose wasteland would be a terrible place to pick, as it would be in the top 5 places to search. Perhaps he was simply getting her out of the apartment? Any port in a storm? I'm playing Devil's Advocate.
My point is if she?d been discovered on wasteland as opposed to a bin five minutes further down the road, what is the significant advantage to the McCanns in such a scenario?  Both places could be reached on foot.  There would be no need to have risked almost certain detection the second time.  It Madeleine dies because of a punch to the head (Spam?s theory, as adminstered by her maniac of a mother) then such an injury could just as likely be attributed to a nutter abductor, a hit and run, etc.  There was no pressing urgency to walk an extra five minutes with a corpse to hide it in a bin (there were plenty of closer bins around anyway).

Why would she be discovered? No one was out searching for her before she disappeared?

I don't agree with this hypothesis, but, for the sake of balance, you don't need a spade to dispose of a body on wasteland. Culverts, ditches, drainage, inspection chambers, dense scrub would all suffice as a temporary measure in a panic.

Just sling her in the bin right outside your own apartment & go back for more tapas & forget about it. Seems like the logical thing to do if you don't want to be connected to the disappearance of the child. Me personally, I'd want to get the thing as far away from me as possible really.

Using your logic, surely the best outcome would be for her to be found in relatively short order, in a bin perhaps, which would point to her being abducted, killed and disposed of?

No, best she's just never found to me. In Madeleine Was Here, Mr McCann posed the following conundrum...

'She's either out there, or she's not, & there's nothing to say she's not out there alive. So it's simple, she's out there until proven otherwise'

Mr McCann posits that it's possible that she's not even out there & lesser still alive. He apparently considers that a possible explanation for the whole mystery, if we take him at his word.

It doesn't look like there's much of any of that going on on the wasteland nearest the apartment, just an open scrubby small expanse of land, surrounded by a chain link fence.  If he hid her there her body would have been pretty exposed IMO.  It's a weak part of an already weak theory.

Weakly supported by timeline evidence & eye witness testimony. Whereas your theory that can account for Smithman being the abductor, it's nowhere to be seen.

That would depend on cause and possibly time of death. As Spammy says, better for her not to be found at all, so no awkward questions to answer

Putting the body in a commercial bin used by restaurants or bars clearing up at the end of the evening and then telling people to check bins when out searching  for your lost child is not a very sensible thing to do then is it?
