She has never admitted turning on the bedroom light.

In "Madeleine Was Here P1" Kate says she didn't want to put the light on because she didn't want to wake the children so I think it is a safe bet she didn't.
She goes on to describe the curtains blowing into the room and she could see clearly then that Madeleine was missing from her bed so I think there was light coming into the room from somewhere.

1)  You are assuming that despite several people moving around that room, searching and checking windows shutters etc., then removing the twins to take elsewhere with their bedclothes, that nothing got moved?  That is a big assumption and may, or may not, be correct

2)   The Twins cots have very low sides.  The bed is a cheapish bed and low as can be seen on various photos.  The bed only comes up to the upper end of the second drawer of the chest, and the twins travel cots only come up to the lower edge of the upper drawer  ... so maybe 4"-5" higher than the low bed?

3)  The photograph is taken from a low level.  You can see the door knob.

4)   All these facts show that the travel cots had very low sides.  Kate is tall and IMO would have no problem seeing the twins in these travel cots from the doorway.  Especially so as the only one with a blanked end was quite close to her

IMO, Kate could see straight into these travel cots from the doorway.  One big step into the room and she could have seen madeleine, had she been there.

Yep, Robin, the room was fairly dark inside but with the shutters up, a small amount of light would have been coming in via the window, and some light would have been beaming in onto the brown cot especially from the lamp that was left on in the sitting room.  Madeleine, around the corner, would not have benefitted so much from the light from the sitting room

So why wasn't Kate McCann put on alert instantly that something was wrong if the shutter was up and the room was much lighter than it should have been?   According to her she only became aware of something being wrong when the door slammed.  Clearly imo she never opened the bedroom door or checked that the children were actually there.

But that is odd because according to Gerry McCann, some 45 minutes earlier he was able to identify Maddie lying on her bed so the room was clearly not as dark as some would claim?

I think Robin makes a valid point, the reverse photo from the cots to the door shows that unless you enter the room you cannot see into the cots. Same applies to most of Maddie's bed.

It was light enough for Jane Tanner to see the man with the child at the top of the road and give a reasonable description of what she saw helped by the street lights.

I don't know how much light was thrown by the lamp behind Gerry and if that contributed.

Kate could also see into the room but had to enter it after the door slammed to see Madeleine's bed clearly, but it was only when the curtains blew that she realised the shutters were up and the window open.

I think the light could have been coming from the street lamp outside, I think the room would have been very dark without a source of illumination of some type.

The curtains in the children's bedroom were full length, one was pinned behind the spare bed, but the nets were short. In my opinion it was the nets which moved and not the curtains.

Please provide a cite for the blank wall.
The floor plan shows it as a blank wall.

She has never admitted turning on the bedroom light.  It was all very strange that the door chose to slam at that point and was not closed already when she entered the apartment.  The very act of opening the patio door would have caused a through draft which should have closed the door.
These effects are really only noticed when the gap in the doorway is narrowed.

I took that to mean at that stage "because she didn't want to wake the children", but when she says she verified that the twins were there and Madeleine missing I don't think the problem of waking the kids is relevant anymore.

The door knob you see in the photo is from a built in cupboard and not the main bedroom door, which you can see in this picture more clearly.

I think it is correct that only the nets blew into the room which suggests that the heavier drapes were drawn back as in the photograph to allow this.
It would also have allowed for more light to come in.

Why don't you think it's their bedroom? Better contact Paul Lewis and inform him.

Interior of 5A bedroom where Madeleine slept
First picture inside the apartment, released 12/11/07

This was the first picture to show the interior of Madeleine's bedroom, from where she was allegedly abducted.

The picture was taken through the front window after the police had completed their forensic investigations. It was released to newspapers on 12 November 2007.

It shows Madeleine's bed, with sheets, but does not show the cots where the twins slept. Presumably the cots, being the property of Mark Warner, were returned and reissued to other guests.

Also worth noting is that there is no 'high shelf'; onto which, it was reported, Kate McCann had described seeing Cuddle Cat - the significance being that it was out of Madeleine's reach and could therefore only have been placed there by an intruder. However, it should be added that these reports came from 'souces' and there is no such quote directly attributable to Kate herself.

Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

I wouldn't call it a shelf, but more like a message board or pin bored, but it's far to narrow for cuddle cat to sit on.  Kate does state in the video Maddie was here 1/5 that cuddle cat and the pink blanket was on the bed near the pillow.

In my opinion the blank wall to which Sadie refers is the one beside the bed occupied by Madeleine.  As can be seen from the photograph where a small area at the foot of the bed is visible ~ a person sleeping in a bed in that position could not be seen from outside the room.
The room had to be entered or at least the head had to be inserted well into the room past the door jamb to enable a sight of the individual in the bed.

That is the wall to the room, level with the door? Nothing like Sadie was describing.
