Well personally if your theory or understanding of your favoured theory is declared it gives the rest an idea of how different your view is from others.
It is not compulsory, but it is handy IMO.

For a draft, opening the patio door (or a window/door on the leeward side of the building) especially a little was necessary, of course, BUT the draft increased as the bedroom door was closing  [Venturi Effect] 

Also, the bedroom door face towards the draft increased in size as the door was closing, so a larger area for the wind (force) coming thru the window to hit on

Also the light... it was dark she couldn't see Maddie, but she could see the twins in their cots?  Gerry saw Maddie when he had his doting dad moment so  was someone switching on and off lights or what?

Why did the door not slam shut when it was first opened then? Gerry saw Maddie on top of her bed when he claimed he looked in on her. IMO the one and only physical check he did that  week. What a coincidence. He also said later that he 'felt' the abductor was in the apartment- so  no blowing. whooshing for him  then. and what about the Matt Check- nope all was quiet.. did he give a measurement of the door at all when he held his ear to it? I can't recall.
