I thought the night two unidentified couples were observed in tapas was quiz night which was Wednesday?

The separation between the bar and the restaurant seems to have escaped Kate's notice. She describes the restaurant as "this restaurant, a canopied outdoor addition to the bar". Their table was mear the bar;

Ok thanks but I seem to recall 2 unidentified couples were present on quiz night?  Tuesday night then? 

Maybe I was getting confused with Wed night being the night they all went under canopy for a liquor and stayed out later?

Why/how?

As I've said before to my mind it all seems 'normal' based on other cases I've looked at.  Expecting people to have perfect recall about inconsequential details and statements in perfect synch just doesn't happen in my experience.

Lol a week or so ago I was doing some ironing and set up an MM YouTube vid to listen to about an 1.25 hrs; wow this guy droned on and on and on about tiny inconsistencies in wit stats.  I just think this is entirely expected especially given one day was much the same as the next.  It seems to me the days were geared around dropping off and collecting children from Kids club, a bit of tennis, a few jogs and then the evenings for a jolly up at tapas.

They seemed to be seated under the canopy but still outside. They went into the bar on Wednesday. The bar was a buildng, so they went indoors.

Do you have the Google earth map Shining In Luz referred to which differentiates the bar and restaurant?

First, most sources state the T9 dined in the Tapas Bar.  They actually dined in the Tapas Restaurant.  The bar and restaurant are two different buildings separated by a passageway.  This walkway can be seen on Google Earth.

Second, statements show that people could walk in off the street to dine, whether members or not, though no one attests that this had actually happened.  I suspect the OC cards were to make reservations and/or obtain 'free' food and wine on the night.

The reservation and other records suggest that the OC had a contract with many owners to utilise their properties when the owners were not using it themselves.  The OC appears to have owned the common, shared areas, but nothing else.  (I'm counting the kids clubs and creche as shared areas.)

Tennis courts appear to have been used by OC members only  I have no idea whether Mrs Fenn was entitled to use the tennis courts, but I suspect her days of playing tennis were over.

The swimming pools may be different.  We lived in the nearby St James complex for a couple of months.  For residents, there was free use of the large communal pool during the summer, but no entitlement outside.

I doubt very much that non-OC guests were entitled to use the kids club or creche, but I don't know for certain.

I can confirm this point.  We were staying at a nice hotel a little further up the road, yet we walked straight in and ate our meal there.  No probs.  No one in the Tapas reception building to check that we were respectable either

Somewhere on the internet, there is a photo which fairly clealy shows the division between bar and restaurant it's not much and IIRC it had a cover over it when we were there.



I am not about to check it, but there is also a view taken from the roadway (Rua dr Aghostiho de Silva) direction, between blocks 5 and 4, and you get a view of the gap.   This might be G.E. or ot might be from a photo

As one enters to complex by the Tapas reception, a walkway winds down and into a building that has a grey roof.  The roof is vaguely rectangular.  That is the restaurant.

Across the passageway, beside the tennis courts, there is a complex of buildings.  The white-roofed one is where the club used by Amelie and Sean is.  The seeming triangular one, with a grey and red-tiled roof, is the bar.

Ok thanks I think I've got it now!  But if I'm looking at the right thing the extreme ends are within touching distance?  The bar has a tiled roof and the restaurant appears to be under canopy?
