Thanks. So here's the relevant section:
----- That, between Monday and Wednesday, not knowing the precise date, when they left the residence by the main door, to place the children in the respective creches, MADELEINE left [went] running to the left to the extreme opposite of the residential blocks where they were lodged, playing with the twins. That they had gone down to the furthest point away from those blocks, not knowing exactly how, the three children got into the gardens at the rear [of the blocks]. Then they followed the inside corridor [pathway] at the rear, next to the hedges [fences] up to the street that led to the secondary reception.
It seems the children took the same the route the dogs scented other than when the dogs arrived on Rua Dr Francisco Gential Martins they veered to the opposite side of the road and scented into the car park wheras MM and twins kept to the 5A side of the road and entered into OC/creche. For this reason I do not believe the dogs were scenting and tracking the movements of MM on Mon - Wed.
It has always worried me, if this was really true. How did the three kids get out of the house unsupervised. Did Madeleine open the front door on her own? OK no it sounds as if the parents were with them to open the door. "when they left the residence by the main door, to place the children in the respective creches,"
She runs ahead playing with the twins, so were the twins already ahead or did all three run ahead? " MADELEINE left [went] running to the left to the extreme opposite of the residential blocks where they were lodged, playing with the twins."
Do they get into someone's garden? OK it seems she was able to open one of the garden gates. "That they had gone down to the furthest point away from those blocks, not knowing exactly how, the three children got into the gardens at the rear [of the blocks]" Surely the parents have caught up but no, they seem to come out of there and run down the alley way to the road. "Then they followed the inside corridor [pathway] at the rear, next to the hedges [fences] up to the street that led to the secondary reception."
Somehow I don't buy it. Did it really happen?
