That destroys Duarte's arguments.

Just as (this STJ's Section) could not assert that it is not acceptable to assimilate the aforementioned filing order to a verified proof of innocence
https://www.gerrymccannsblogs.co.uk/Annulment_request.htm

She is saying that the filing order was 'a verified proof of innocence'
was the portuguese word used proof or evidence....i think it may be evidence

and she is talking about the filing order not the princille of presumption of innocence..The presumption of innocence does protect against accusations of guilt

I'm struggling to see how the last few posts relate to thread topic?
Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

I don't believe I've made a single post on this thread unrelated to thread topic.

If you want to discuss the 'presumption of innocence' or any other matter you can do so by setting up new threads and/or retrieving old threads.

I'm quoting from a chapter in a  book written by William Clegg QC who represented Barry George at his appeal and second trial where he was acquitted:

He received no compensation because he was unable to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he was innocent, which is the high test that is set before compensation is awarded.

Its a disgusting system imo.  The MET were unable to solve the murder of Jill Dando and a year after her murder concocted a case against local man Barry George who suffered mental and physical disabilities.  All the ballistics evidence shows without any doubt Jill Dando was murdered by someone extremely accomplished with firearms which was way beyond the likes of Barry George.

The lead officer on the case Hamish Campbell had some involvement in MM's case too.

What has the fact Barry George received no compensation got to do with this case... He didn't receive compensation because he wasn't proved innocent.. Etc
This is your post

Its relevant Davel because it is a case not only investigated by the MET but by the very same officers that have had some involvement in MM's case.  The post makes reference to the MET and MM.

Your exchange with G-Unit about the presumption of innocence does not involve even a tenuous link to the thread topic.

Further funding from the Home Office has been announced.  Many commentators think enough has already been spent and given the public are unaware of anything significant being pursued are starting to ask why so much resource has been devoted to one missing child?

Will the HO/MET string it out for another year or so until MM turns 18 and then feel the pressure is off as MM will be 18 yoa?  Just a thought.

They have asked for funding as they still have a significant lead... Or are they all just lying

I've no idea.  I was just listening to some 'Loose Women' shows on youtube while doing some ironing and the general consensus is that although they could empathise with the McCanns most thought enough has been spent and they were unhappy about the lack of transparency into exactly what the MET are pursuing so far down the line.

I don't think loose women are an authority on the matter

Do you think they understand Portugal has primacy and strict secrecy laws...

'Loose Women' are no more or less an authority on the matter than most who post here and as tax-payers are more than entitled to voice their opinions as to how the Home Office is dishing out hard earned cash to the MET.

Moreover Loose Women are probably a good barometer for the public at large.

I would say I understand far more about the case than loose women.... It doesn't matter what loose women.. Or the public... Or you think... Thank god.. It matters what the professionals think... And they have applied and received funding

No doubt you think SY would benefit by having a couple of loose women on the case

The fact you believe you know more about the case than 'Loose Women' doesn't make it so.  One of the 'Loose Women' panelists was Jane Moore a columnist for your favourite paper who has a very close relationship with the MET.

If by professionals you mean police officers and politicians I would point out they are public servants paid for by the tax-payer so it matters very much what the public think.

No it doesn't matter... The public dont make the decisions... The professionals do... I think it's ridiculous to suggest the loose women know the case in detail as posters here do

The public make the decisions via the ballot box its called a democracy.

The fact you think something is ridiculous doesn't make it so.
