I agree but it wasn't about JB's character it was about George Nicholls' professional opinion that JB was competent to take over the tenancy of WHF.

And I suppose you don't find it remotely questionable that, knowing his inheritance rested on him running the farm, Jeremy, who GN only met twice following the murders, might have put on a good show? Once the inheritance was his, he have been perfectly free ton do what it appears he'd wanted to do all along.................live a life as far removed from farming, as possible.

I don't agree, he was influenced by the word of someone who he respected - Nevill.

And possibly out of respect for Nevill's memory? I seem to think the recommendation may have made after his murder.

Interestingly relatives who didn't stand to inherit if JB was convicted didn't seem to have anything adverse to say  *%87

The Howies who were June's cousins (I think) stood bail for JB.

George Tweed was a second cousin to NB and his wife liked JB a lot!

According to Robert Boutflour his daughter Ann told him on 8th August 1985 that the Howies were going to run White House Farm. He immediately phoned Basil Cock and suggested that Ann's husband Peter Eaton should be given the job instead. His reason was that he thought it was 'more appropriate' that someone with 'a closer link to the Bambers' should be appointed. [w/s 15/8/91]

Haha! I love your tongue-in-cheek wit, VS!

Final page:

Are you taking the rise out of Brett, Jeremy, or both?

Think I missed a page

Very reliable witness, was Brett... @)(++(*

He was hardly going to incriminate himself was he?

And how strange he refused to stand as witness for Jeremy in the court...and has now come out and said Jeremy is guilty.

It does speak volumes. I wonder if JB as something on him? and he didn't want to rock the boat.

Are you saying the police don't investigate and the press don't research?  They are paid to do both not rely on what they're told by one individual.

If what you're saying is correct where did the story about June come from?

I have good friends who are top journalists who work for national newspapers, and I know for a fact they will publish information given to them by just one source.

You’re coming out with all these assumptions, but you’re wrong.

You’re still denigrating Sheila — I don’t know why you do that.  Sheila wasn’t a top model because she was too short, which frustrated the top agencies as she was so stunningly beautiful. However, she did do several modelling jobs, including a well-known one for Bacardi. The fact she was on the DSS was that she wasn’t working when she was ill: why do you even mention that? She was entitled to that money, unlike that thieving psychopath of a brother who eventually shot her and her sons’ dead to get his filthy grasping paws on THEIR inheritance!

LR was indeed a witness at trial and made a statement on 11th September 1985. You could say she was condoning the drug dealing but that would just sound a bit desperate as does the excuse of the cheque book fraud.

Especially when it was Jeremy Bamber’s drugs they were selling!

And he was involved in the one instance of cheque fraud too — he knew the coffee machine was bought fraudulently, which is more serious  than actually committing the fraud!

Holly likes to bang on about that ONE cheque fraud, which Julie regretted, owned up to, and paid back to her bank. But KILLING your parents, sister and two nephews in cold blood is a tad different, ain’t it just?!

But that testimony isn't the end of the story. I believe him to have said, subsequently, that he thinks Jeremy is guilty.

Thirty Five years ago..

Brett Collins has since said he firmly believes Jeremy Bamber is guilty.

Everyone knows he’s guilty.

He did. Took him some 35 years to decide though!

You don’t know that at all

He refused to go into the witness box for him in 1986!

Anyway, who’s to say he isn’t thick and slow on the uptake? Maybe it took a little longer for him to see the light

Some women think he is very handsome.
Some think he is innocent

Can he carry a tune? play an instrument if so, we can mention that as good points.

I don’t think he was handsome. He was just clean cut, dressed smartly and had an averagely attractive face — but he had no sex appeal at all.

Plus he fancied men, apparently, and was a transvestite so people have said, so with his thieving, evil, arrogant character to boot I’m surprised anyone fancied him.

Brett seemed to...

And Jeremy seemed attracted to him too. There’s a newspaper article from way back where Brett admitted they were much, much closer than people realised, and heavily hinted at them having had an affair. Maybe Jeremy got the hump about that, in case his little army stopped sending him good quality envelopes, stamps, cash and photos of cakes he’d never eat 🤪

A rather surprising supporter is right wing Tory MP Andrew Hunter.

There’s plenty of weird, thick, corrupt politicians, Holly.

Indeed, it’s known that psychopaths are drawn to powerful careers...hence why there’s a disproportionate number of them in parliament.

Just look at some of those have been caught: Jeffrey Archer, Jonathan Aitken, Peter Hain, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. You had Boothy who was in with Krays, Profumo affair, Cyril Smith the paedophile, plus all the married closet guys caught out in public toilets...it’s rife with all sorts.

So I’d hardly see it as a feather in one’s cap having a backbencher supporting a case he probably knows little about.

You forgot to mention all the people who turned against JB...
