They should get priorities straight.......even if they managed to close down all main forums....or sue half the world and its wife.....they  can  never protect their kids from reading the case.....in the future....in all sorts of other places...which I imagine is their main worry.....

I'm sure the fanatics would move to an overseas server, beyond the reach of CR in order to protect their site.
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.

It doesn't really matter about the kids. Although several fora have been forced to strip their archives of libellous postings- always possible.

You may not like it, but it is the law.

If Sally Bercow can go down for a six figure sum for tweeting "Lord McAlpine is trending. Wonder why ;)" then most anti-Mccanns on twitter and forum are in the proverbial.

Try reading the judgement in the Bercow case. It surprised even me!

It's not a good parallel. As we know that business was linked to a TV programme.

The whole point of the Bercow case is that it proved that the location of the server is immaterial in English Law. The mere fact that it was accessible in England was sufficient for the gambit to succeed. IMHO it has cleared the way for a clenasing of the fora.

Immaterial. She was found guilty of libel for merely noticing the trending and tweeting about it. There is no need for a connection to Newsnight which was sued in the usual manner.

This has opened the floodgates.

We will now move into cult behaviour where a potential threat is minimised in their minds by and trick they can think of.

If the server was in say, Russia, and people used proxy email addresses, I'm not sure English law could touch them.

Well if that's the plan let's hope they go for the right people.

Then ask them why they let some individuals - we all know who - continue.

(and I don't mean TB)

The point is that people are identifiable and also give away details on line. In the dark days of the 3As, all the major movers were traced to their home addresses, Brenda to Kent, Beowulf to Toronto and others to their various lairs.
