Yes, Panem et circenses times are gone...

Don't forget the position taken by the authorities, they do have to protect themselves. As long as possible.

Of course. The Scotland Yard or any other police force would not be announcing future actions 10 days in advance. Only Mr. Mitchell could ever believe that the public was stupid enough to take that pill blindfolded (well, some are taking it).

And then the fund.

Let’s count the months, shall we?

That's a surrealistic question. The pertinent issue would be "how can we help the McCanns in the mess they've put themselves in ?".

Nothing surrealistic at all in my post.

One poster suggested SY were conducting a wild goose chase thus showing little hope for Madeleine.

I prefer to remain more optimistic and hope that some kind of truth may emerge from these investigations.

As I said, readers can judge for themselves which stance is more supportive of Madeleine.

As for your question. It is premised on an attack on the McCanns which I refuse to accept is either a helpful or even decent way of looking at the situation. Again readers can judge for themselves whose post to consider most helpful to the McCanns' missing daughter.

It could be the justification of the Indian varnas. As in the Bhagavad Gita Krisna says to Arjuna, better do badly your dharma than perfectly the dharma of another varna.

And then the fund.

And now is, as I said, unpaid.  Do try to keep up with the latest information. It really helps.

Can someone clarify please

Has Scotland Yard chosen to make this announcement today  ...  in the middle of the libel trial  ?   ...  or has Clarence Mitchell supplied the papers with this timely  'up-date'  on the investigation  ?

Do we know  ?

The Press is not going to help find Madeleine or what happened to her. By now you should have learned that for them what counts is selling.
For six years the Press has been selling news and no-news, with little or no respect for little Madeleine or for her family.
But it is your choice to believe them.

The announcement is due to the fact, I suspect, that the papers have picked up on the early information sent to them by the TV channels of their upcoming programming. The BBC will have listed the Crimewatch details  and SY will have supported this Crimewatch programme as Police Forces usually do with extra information in order to increase the viewing figures of the programme and hence its usefulness as a reconstruction and public appeal.

If you are trying to suggest the McCanns are capable of dictating the timing of a Crimewatch Reconstruction being undertaken by the BBC and SY then I have even less respect for your notions than previously as that is simply bonkers.

Not at all. It was a factual comment about the post Anne Guedes made. That post was utterly pretentious flim flam as was her "panem et circenses" reference when even her English is perfectly adequate to use the terms 'bread and circuses'.
