I fail to see why any other children and especially children abducted on our own doorstep are not being actively pursued to the same extent.

To highlight these cases I am starting a new board, details of which will follow shortly.

English to dig in three areas Correio da Manhã.

The cost of the operation will be fully supported by the English police, which is already arranging for the rental of backhoes and other equipment that is needed for the excavations.

The cost will be borne by the British taxpayer and as one I object.  This fiasco has gone on and cost too much already imo.

Her parents never did.

They never fully cooperated with the investigation.

That's a really good point.  Why the hell should we be funding operations in a foreign country when the parents wouldn't even cooperate with the investigation?  I won't even mention the hidden report and the withheld e-fits.

Why would they go to these extreme lengths and resources? They really want to nail the ones behind Madeleine's disappearance. They don't want them to get away with it!
Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

Discredited by the mccanns and some of their supporters.

However, in the circumstances, the PJ did the best they could.

Shame the mccanns and associated never fully cooperated with the investigation.

The question is why.

Me too.  And if they announced they were going to do the same for Ben Needham I would be delighted.   These children deserve their own country to do everything in their power regardless of cost to find out what happened to them.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

This word 'searching' has taken on a whole new meaning since the McCann case began.  Maybe the Oxford English dictionary will now be amended to show this new meaning?
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

Searching = lie on your bed and watch everyone else do it

Searching = pay a private investigator then threaten him with legal action if he discloses what he found

Searching = digging the roses in Rothley while the VERY FIRST STONE IS BEING TURNED.

Yep, the language of the McCann means something totally different to what the rest of us think it means.....

Me too

The PJ stopped searching for a living Madeleine from day 1.  PT stopped searching at all after a few months

Despite Johns statement to the contrary, The Mccanns searched hard for over 5 years.

Most of us are so pleased that a proper professional search is now taking place and I echo Benices comments.

It would be good if Ben Needhams case was reviewed as well.
