Sorry probably not the right thread, but Hogan Howe said only back in April 2016 that it was essentially a Portuguese investigation and that they reviewed that investigation to see if they could help or had the Portuguese missed any thing,no need for OG officers to be there, the boot work had already been done.
Based on the fact that the GNR know next to nothing about Luz, and more, I can say with 100% certainty that the GNR missed important points.

Based on the fact that the PJ know nothing about Luz, and more, I can say with 100% certainty that the PJ missed important points.

Based on the fact that OG clearly knows nothing significant about Luz, and more, I can say with 100% certainty that OG has missed important points.

Have a stab at this question.  What is important about the route from apartment 5A to the Millennium?

It actually has multiple significances, but can you give me just one?

However, if you do the trip on the ground, those multiple significances become apparent very readily.

There were 2 routes they could have taken. Which one are you working on?

Out the front door.  Out the car park.  Turn R and go past the Murats', up to the main road.  Turn R.  Go down the street to the Mirage.  Turn L.  Go to Millennium reception.  Go into the Millennium zone.

It sounds like an awfully long way.

That is an excellent start.  From memory, I make it around 650m, as opposed to perhaps 70m to walk to the Tapas.

The first visit to the Millennium was immediately after the MW "welcome" meeting on the Saturday. (Madeleine p.48) Would that not have been held in the main reception, meaning they probably went along Rua Direta to get to the restaurant? The McCanns next & final visit was on the Sunday morning for breakfast which may have also been along the same route as the previous night.

I don't know where the welcome meeting was held.

I do know that main reception was not big enough to hold the number of people who arrived via MW that day.

That would leave the Tapas zone and the Millennium zone as meeting places.  The adults-only pool is out due to the prohibition of children.

The Millennium was located in the northern-most area of the OC, out of the way for most, and was active all day.  Presumably not the meet and greet venue.

The Tapas was central, and did not serve meals on a Saturday, making it the most likely spot.

Whether my short route is correct or your long route is correct does not actually matter.  Both routes were s**t for the McCanns.

The welcome meeting was in the Tapas Bar according to RO rogatory.

Wasn't Rua Direta full of roadworks in 2007?

Not on 3 May 2007.  There were 2 lots of roadworks mentioned in the files that day, but Direita was not being hacked up on any major scale.

Many thanks for the RO quote.   8((()*/

Does this actually have anything to do with anything?

The only other thing that I can think of is that it might have been the route that the abductor took, which was well away from where any of the Tapas Seven, or Nine, were going to be coming from, past the head of the road, of course.

I have this "Theory" that this is the way that the abductor took.

I have never been to Luz, but you only need to look at a map to see that this was the obvious way to go if you needed to stay out of sight.

I have no idea what this might signify when it comes to The Millennium Restaurant.
