Kate's last alleged visit was reported in the media.  But I can't find anyone here who spotted her.

Panorama plus media photogs have allegedly been in Luz recently, in anticipation of the 10th anniversary.  But I can't find anyone who spotted them.

Just like the presumed OG interviews, there is no evidence that these events occurred.

Absence Of.......Whatever.  I can never remember the right way round.

In an Oct 2016 report where I got flame-grilled by the Mirror, it was abundantly clear to me which parts were based on truth, and which parts had simply been concocted in the UK at a journalist's desk.

To many an other, it looked like something more substantial.

However, all it was, roughly speaking, was the media filling some more column inches with whatever they could dredge up.  Sprinkled with a hefty splosh of imagination.

So why don't we have tales from the media of OG interviewing the T9?  It would fill report after report after report.  Surely I can't be more important?  I turn up but the T9 alleged re-interviews do not?  Don't think so.

Until someone provides a shred of evidence that the T9 were re-interviewed prior to the OG remit then the known facts are that someone unknown decided the OG remit which was based on something unknown.

Kate made several visit to PdL for years which were not reported.   Hence the claim by some sceptics made during the same time  -that she would never return to PT for fear of being arrested.

IMO any Detective worth his salt would want to interview the McCanns and friends very early on - in order to make their own assessment of their credibility.

IIRC the media were asked to behave responsibly and Kate and Gerry amongst others made that appeal to them - especially as the Portuguese had intimated that if they didn't - they would cease proceedings.   (from memory - so am happy to retract that last bit if needs be).

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

If the OG remit is based on facts unknown them you can have no reason to criticise it
But as I have said the idea that OG would not have interviewed the last people to see Maddie alive is absurd and if you wish to believe in the absurd that is up to you

Perhaps you could explain what OG could hope to learn by re-interviewing the T9?

So no evidence then.  Just pure speculation?  All explained by the simple English word "would".

Well, according to one of your fellow sceptics on this forum it is possible that JT has already spoken to the Met and given them important new information which would almost certainly require follow up imterviews with the McCanns, Jez Wilkins and members of the Tapas group.  OG could hope to learn loads from re-imterviewing the T9 if they believed there was some sort of cover up going on and members of the group were ready to crack, don't you think?

I thought they'd already done that, or was it just all media speculation?
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

OG have been pushed out by the Germans who have reserved all the deck chairs for the foreseeable future

Why would OG not want to re-interview Murat.  Got reported.  Re-interviews of T9?  Seemingly not.  Remit.  No explanation.

Evidence supporting the remit.  None.

Well, one point beyond dispute is that Kate and Gerry were not interviewed by Rogatory.

They gave two statements to the Portuguese police and that was it.

Of course, 3 statements to Portuguese police if you include the arguido interviews.

Speculation? I think so. I thought we were talking about routine interviews as would have been carried out by the police if the 'abduction' had occurred in the UK. I don't see how it was ever possible to proceed in that way because it wasn't possible to turn the clock back four years and 'pretend' they were beginning at the beginning.

I think you're shifting the goalposts now.   8(>((. Also, could I remind you that you invited speculation, so don't be surprised when you are given a speculative answer:

"Perhaps you could explain what OG could hope to learn by re-interviewing the T9?"

Lets not delve into the fantasy realms of pranks please Rob.
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.
