You claimed Edgar wasn't aware LCN had been used.

Your claim is patently false, or at least not supported by anything you have posted.

Any your cite proves that how ?

Any chance of providing cites?

All the cites have already been provided on this very thread. Perhaps you should take the time to read them Brietta.

Can you really not see how my ( the average man on the Clapham omnibus ) airing my views is entirely different from Edgar, the lead investigator of the McCanns independent investigation, is not different? Really?

From the article I quoted earlier, from the Belfast Telegraph, I cited the wrong bit.

I should have cited this:

Quote
He [Edgar] claimed if Low Copy Number (LCN) DNA testing had been carried out at the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz, where Maddie vanished from two years and four months ago, it is “highly likely” her abductor would have been nailed.

The rest is the opinion of the writer about what Edgar [in the writer's opinion] is likely to have meant.

On 12/9/2013 he had not read the complete files.

GP – Did you have access to the criminal process?
DE answers that he read parts of the files in the translation that the McCanns asked to be done.
GP – How did you manage to conduct an investigation without analysing all the process? Whom did you contact in Portugal?
DE says he contacted an informant who passed information to both the UK and Portuguese authorities. He doesn't want to say to whom he spoke, but says he spoke to someone from the PJ.

Uh huh ... "GP – How did you manage to conduct an investigation without analysing all the process? "

That would be the process which ... was abandoned and shelved having failed to find a single clue as to what happened to Madeleine McCann.

Why should Dave Edgar be criticised for not raking over the old coals of a fatally flawed and failed investigation.  His job was not to replicate the failures of the Policia Judiciaria process which had singularly given up on Madeleine McCann.

No serious investigator worth his or her salt would give the files as they were left in 2008 the same weight that the Portuguese judiciary apparently do.
Edgar was employed to find Madeleine ... to use the files to assist in that would require I imagine that he took from them only that which was relevant to that objective.

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

But LCN DNA test were carried out so I don't see your point.

Well 'raking over old coals' is exactly what OG did during the review period or perhaps you think they were using 'other' files?

As an aside, notice anything about this testimony from DE?

Including all the information which had been submitted to Madeleine's case file since then ... some of which was supplied by Dave Edgar himself.

What is the comparison between Scotland Yard resources and the resources available to Dave Edgar when he was working to find Madeleine?
There has been plenty of publicised discontent and complaint about the staffing and expenditure granted to Operation Grange to enable one to make a fair guesstimate.

Funds, payment, fees or whatever is needed to do his work.

That is something best directed towards those who employed him, though it seems unlikely that he would be employed and then not supplied with the where with all to carry out his investigations
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

OG have been pushed out by the Germans who have reserved all the deck chairs for the foreseeable future

Until we know this we can't say he was useless.

Yes - the difference is your views are based on extreme bias and ignorance based on your general contempt for all thing McCann, and are libellous in the extreme, whereas Edgar's views are based on years of experience as a professional detective and investigator and are not given with a view to smearing the parents of a missing child.

Years of experience as a detective? Undoubtedly. Professional?  Not in the least. Not even attempting to ask questions at a marina where a 'vital' witness was said to have been seen. Not insisting that he had full and unfettered access to all the relevant information. Not even knowing that LCN DNA had been used in the case already. Does that sound professional to you?

Now Henry Exton was a consummate professional with a long career in both the police and M15. He not only had access to all the files but was also the composer of the efits that OG are now placing so much importance on. And we know from the 'hypercritical' report what he thought.

Resources isn't the issue. That Edgar only had access to the files the McCanns determined is.
