Amaral's default position appears to grab for the most outlandish and offensive theory - chopped up and fed to pigs, stored in a freezer and then transported as a defrosted corpse weeks later in a hire car, hidden in a coffin with the remains of an old woman, etc.  Not for him the simple "hidden in a bin or down a well", no it's got to have an element of the theatre of the macabre about it.

Good crime thriller then if it was a best seller as you referred to it earlier.

Yes, quite a work of fiction.

If there's one thing missing from this case it's evidence about anything. Some people fervently believe a child was abducted, but there's no evidence that she was.

.
Is it your opinion that it's just as likely Madeleine died and was stored in a freezer by her parents for 23 days, then driven somewhere in the hire car as it is that she was abducted by a stranger who entered the unlocked apartment and carried her out?

Did he have just one theory or multiple theories?

In the book and documentary, just that one, from memory.

He then veered off into MI5, other people's cremations and whatever else I may have missed along the way.

As some of that has occurred or been believed by police to have occurred in the UK what is remarkable about it?
1) Shoved through a mutrator and fed to pigs...................Muriel McKay 1969/1970.
2)Transported as partially defrosted corpse ......................Ann Noblett 1958.
3) Corpse hidden in freezer for ten days...........................Rebecca Thorpe 2010.

It couldn't happen could it so a waste of time thinking of it.
For the cite crazy here's one.

I have done the other two at least twice. Book burners note with or without cites  Ann Noblett and Muriel McKay are both dead according to SY.

In my home town an apprentice butcher accidentally killed his friend during an argument over meat they were selling. The butcher had no record of violence and everyone said what a nice fellow he was. Guess what he did with the body ? Yep....put it in the freezer at the shop.....possibly as a hiding place until he had time to think what to do next.

It’s a funny old world.

Yeah, funny he had access to a nice big freezer, him being a butcher and all.

I think that was one of the flaws in the freezer theory ... the fact that there was no access to a freezer which would appear to be an essential component.

How do you know?
None was apparent in the Noblett case which remains unresolved to this day.

Quite simply - had there been such an appliance which could be connected to Kate and Gerry it would have featured in the dog videos.

Take a step back and visualise it.  Eddie baying at a freezer, in my opinion ... pure cinematography! ... it would have knocked the Renault into a cocked hat.

Did the McCanns have access to a freezer large enough to store the body of their child? If they did, then it would have had to have been within walking distance of the apartment and hastily arranged within a day or two of the disappearance.  That should narrow it down.
