What Time Did The Bamber’s Have Their Last Dinner?

Unless we're going to put June to the trouble of producing a three stage meal -one for the children, one for Colin, and one for the victims, the logistics of producing such a staging would have been a nightmare.

According to Colin the children were still awake when he left at 8.30pm. Perhaps June served a salad; it was August after all. Otherwise I'm sure she was used to cooking meals which could be kept warm as farming doesn't always allow everyone to sit down together.

He’s suggesting he doesn’t think he had anything to eat when he got home

If it was the main meal of the day, after harvesting from dawn, I'd have thought something more substantial than salad would have been necessary.

Posted this on another thread, in an interview Bamber gave in 1993, when asked,

Do you see the spark of this crime being the possibility of her children being fostered out ?

His reply was,

“It was something that was discussed. That was one of the many, many options that were discussed over how best to help her. What were the outside pressures causing her such distress ?”

In my opinion, if they did have such a conversation, they certainly wouldn't have had it in front of Colin.

Colin would have objected to June and Nevill putting forward proposals re what might be best for HIS children. IMO, they might have been able to manipulate Sheila, but they wouldn't have been able to manipulate Colin.

Changing the twins' living arrangements would have been vigorously opposed by Colin so it made sense to try to get Sheila's agreement before involving him.

CC dropped the twins and SC off on Sun 4th Aug.  JB's claims of a conversation re fostering etc relate to Tues 6th Aug.

Still strange that nothing would have been discussed with CC at all though.Nothing even tentatively sounded out.  The twins would have been fostered over his dead body so seems unlikely to me that June would even have the gall to suggest it

There is only Bamber's word that such a conversation took place. As you say, she had previously mentioned her concerns about this to Colin's mum - there is no way she would have changed her mind so quickly. It also wasn't up to her or Nevill or even Sheila. More likely they were talking about how they could help Sheila more and Bamber was counting the cost of such intervention.

I doubt Sheila would have sat there, saying nothing, and allowing a conversation to continue about the removal of her children from her. We have Jeremy's word for it that she remained quiet.

Neither do I. He kept what was supposedly said in this conversation to a bare minimum because he knew he would have to recall it - make it too complicated. and he's be in danger of getting it wrong.
