From the Robin Garbutt case I have learned that gastric analysis is not the most reliable for giving a precise time of death, requiring further information as to what and how much was eaten at what time but from the information you have posted this would certainly seem to end all the CT silly claims to Sheila being alive until gone 7, not that anyone with a brain takes them seriously.

Yes, I’d say Sheila had a substantial meal for the food to only having been partially digested when she was shot.

Caroline mentioned that she thought Jeremy May have killed them all much earlier than 3am, and going by this I’d say she’s right

Well if I was a Bamber supporter I’d try and dig up a statement from a friend or family member of Sheila’s who mentioned a night where they saw her fixing herself a midnight snack and then I wouldn’t have to worry about it anymore and carry on holding her responsible for the killings.

They’ll no doubt try that, VS, but that wouldn’t wash.

Firstly, Sheila had eaten a family dinner at 9pm and was satiated. She then went to bed at 10pm, and was very quiet and not feeling that good, so the idea that she may have woken at midnight to fix a snack doesn’t work. She wouldn’t have been hungry (plus she was asleep by then), she was also a heavy smoker and they usually have a cigarette rather than eat. There were no signs of food in her bedroom or the kitchen, no unwashed plates/knives...

And on top of that, although Vanezis didn’t say what the food was, they definitely examine it to see what was eaten. They have to. They don’t just examine the contents they also check for poison, drugs etc.

A good point, unfortunately. She was partial to the odd bendy bifter so doubtless there would be witnesses to when she suffered the munchies.

CC or someone might be able to shed light on her sleeping habits while on Haloperidol though. Possible she zonked out at 10pm and wouldn't have woken for hours unless there was a commotion in the house caused by you know who.

Hang on! If Colin had supper with the Bambers, LEAVING for London, at 8.30, doesn't that preclude their last meal having being eaten between 8.30 and 9.00?

According to Jeremy the family were eating dinner at between 8:30 & 9pm

He said he watched them while he made a ham sandwich for himself.

Neither do I. He kept what was supposedly said in this conversation to a bare minimum because he knew he would have to recall it - make it too complicated. and he's be in danger of getting it wrong.

Indeed. It seems to be a pattern in his storytelling. When he is asked who was in the conversation he includes himself and then almost immediately backtracks and says he wasn't really listening when pressed for details.

Unless we're going to put June to the trouble of producing a three stage meal -one for the children, one for Colin, and one for the victims, the logistics of producing such a staging would have been a nightmare.

It’s possible the twins ate earlier, especially as Nevill was so busy

According to Colin the children were still awake when he left at 8.30pm. Perhaps June served a salad; it was August after all. Otherwise I'm sure she was used to cooking meals which could be kept warm as farming doesn't always allow everyone to sit down together.

I doubt June would have served up just a salad! Nevill was a big man and needed something far more substantial than a few lettuce leaves....

June would have made a hearty meal, especially as the family were coming down. She may have cooked a chicken, new potatoes, vegetables, a side salad...plus pudding. You can guarantee she’d have made one of her special cakes a Jeremy was so fond of! It was a special occasion in a way.

She wouldn’t serve them just a salad.

In my opinion, if they did have such a conversation, they certainly wouldn't have had it in front of Colin.

Colin would have objected to June and Nevill putting forward proposals re what might be best for HIS children. IMO, they might have been able to manipulate Sheila, but they wouldn't have been able to manipulate Colin.

But they’d have needed Colin’s consent!
