They better change lawyer if they hope to win against Mr Amaral. Isabel Duarte discredited herself with a passionate and unjustified vociferation towards the public, mainly journalists who were very silent and attentive. She almost knelled screaming, it was shocking. She isn't an appropriate lawyer but a woman who has personal revenge to resolve. Keeping her they have no chance to win, even a symbolical euro.

Apart from that she made two huge mistakes

1) She tried to withhold evidence from the court saying the court should not be allowed access to the PJs DVD on the files, dumb at best, her request was denied

2) She stated that there is evidence Madeleine was alive because *there had been many sightings*, dumb comment too

and 3) initially tried to have the case held in camera, so sneeky to boot,  and overruled there as well and that was also after the legal action being kept secret from Mr Amaral

This woman has proved to be really no good. I wonder how CR could support her and I sincerely advise the McCanns to find someone else, not in order to win (which I don't mind) but for the interest of the judgement.

Isabel is exactly what a lawyer shouldn't be. She might have fascinated people with her pale green eyes, as a cobra does, but she's hopeless, and though I've no special sympathy for the McCanns, I really pity them to have been induced to choose the Duarte lawyer.

A cobra with no sting, yes, useless lol, feel sorry for her as she seemed a nice person in normal real life, shame she got mixed  up with that total revengeful nazi like crap destined to fail, like who in this day and age goes to any court to BAN BOOKS, scary

Poor abused Leonor Cipriano.  Jailed for about 16 years on NO evidence ...  and as she is about to come out they try her again on some fudged up charge.

had the case held in camera, so extremely sneeky to boot,

It was at Faro Court where so many of these unjust cases happen.

Lost when the appeal by Mr Amaral on the book ban was upheld
Lost after that with the supreme court, theysaid there could be no comeback by her
No further appeals made by her to any higher authority on the case
In other words, lost overall so far, and not only against Mr Amaral but lost against the publishers and the tv station

As you say not a great foundation to win her alledgedly upcoming case

I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong, but isnt it a fact that the McCanns lawyer was not present when the Book Ban was overturned, as they had not been notified that the case was being heard?

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

Lawyers don't have to be present when a higher court (second instance) reviews a decision  taken by a lower court (first instance), following an appeal made by one part. In this case the higher court overturned the conclusions of the lower court and lawyers were informed afterwards in order to be able to make an appeal to the supreme court (third instance). Isabel Duarte did and duly argued against the higher court's ban overturn. The supreme court confirmed the decision of the higher court.

Not wishing to nitpick, but cobras do not sting, they bite.  Scorpions, however, sting.

She is a murderer, why don't you show sympathy for her daughter ?

only suposed evidence was brutally tortured out of her, Joao and Leandro.

To any civilised person, that IS NOT EVIDENCE

NO EVIDENCE Stephen.  NONE at all.
