Yes, it is important.  The dogs can be an good tool but in this case it was a waste of money deploying them.

Had the forensics not come back as inconclusive we might be looking at a very different scenario today.  It goes without saying, Madeleine's DNA not being conclusively found in the hire car doesn't mean it wasn't there.  Its just yet another piece of evidence which can be taken both ways.

But they did.  And Kate and Gerry McCann weren't even arrested, never mind charged.  So I don't understand why they have had their names dragged through the mud on fora for so long.

No its taken as there is no proof that Maddie had been in that car . Theres also no proof that the Big Bad Wolf wasn't in the car... theres no proof that Elvis wasnt in the car..To be quite honest...with your big letters... you are starting to sound a bit ridiculous

Its very simple but here it is in big letters

HE HASN'T GOT A CLUE WHAT HAPPENED TO MADELEINE MCCANN

I immediately took that to mean Amaral. After all its his own lawyer who said the fact is that Madeleine could be alive or dead.

I get the impression that nobody really knows what happened to Madeleine. That's the position that the McCanns have held now for years. They hope she is alive but know she may not be. Just as Scotland Yard officers still have some hope she may be alive but know there is a good chance she is not.

Only Amaral seems to be completely stuck in his position of the child being dead. His problem is, of course, that there is no proof of that. Its just a thesis even though he has categorically said over and over that she is dead. He is a man with a very hard heart who cannot find even a tiny hope of life for a missing child and who prefers to profit from making claims he cannot prove.

My point precisely.  There isn't any proof that her DNA was in the car hire nor is there any proof that it wasn't in the hire car. The cadaver dogs however did react to something and that will always be the fly in the ointment.

After 6 years and no suspects even now and no sightings, not a trace of her, it doesn't look good.

So we are looking at a car that potentially could have Maddie, The big bad wolf and elvis...shouldn't be hard to find

With regard to the car, the cadaver dog alerted to the drivers door. The blood dog alerted to blood on the key fob and to something in the boot. There was no actual alert to cadaver scent in the car I don't think because the cadaver dog was very possibly alerting to the blood on the key fob. Those who have read the reports by Grime know that this dog alerts to both cadaver scent and blood.

No, after all this time it does not look good. But as has been said many times there are a few cases where children have disappeared for this length of time and have been found. So I prefer (like the McCanns and SY) to at least hope that there is a chance of life. Its a shame Amaral appears to have become fixated on death and cannot contemplate any other option.

Just for a moment considering that the cadaver dog may have alerted to cadaver odour in the car and not simply the blood on the key fob, I wonder did anyone check whether the cop who had the job of driving the car from PDL to the garage had recently been in contact with a cadaver, made a trip to the morgue as part of his job maybe? I hope they did such a check but there is no record that I have seen.

I doubt it, gilet.  If the PJ were incompetent and sloppy enough not to use a low-loader to transport the car then they were incompetent and sloppy enough not to even think of any checks that you mentioned.

I might be wrong but I have never heard of a three year old coming home after 6 plus years.

I might be wrong but I have never heard of a three year old coming home after 6 plus years.

Till recently it was just about unheard of for teenagers to have been holed up within a few metres of their own homes for years and years. People said that was impossible. But it wasn't.

As I said, there is hope till there is proof of death. It is the natural hope of a parent, the driving force of a decent police officer too. A great shame Amaral could not feel the same way and instead chose to pronounce the child definitely dead with no proof at all.

And don't the p......s enjoy just a bit too much, the rubbing of salt into the McCanns open wounds?

Pretty sure that no one will hurt more than the McCanns over the choice they made.

Perhaps [ censored word] anger might be best directed towards whoever took Madeleine from her bed.

And your proof for this alleged event is....?

Yes but it could still be a case of manslaughter could it.
There's no evidence it wasn't. Am I right to understand "manslaughter" as homicide without intention to kill ?
