You might be right, Elli.   Might be a Lawyer set up in a ploy for sympathy.   I just hope that nobody has stolen his clothes.

You are not out of step Sadie.
I don't believe a word he says about anything.
I think it is just part of this guy's MO. He has played the "poor me" card before.
Eleanor has mentioned his present sartorial inelegance for example. He really doesn't have to dress like that. In fact he was known for being fastidious about his personal appearance and wardrobe during his halcyon days in Portugal.

From start to finish his latest complaints are just another devious ploy. I have no idea what but there will be something behind it all. The German authorities won't be discriminating against his diet. The other prisoners will be eating it too and probably cooking it.
He's in prison ergo he must eat prison food. Maybe he is getting worried he will be eating it until he is a very old man.

WS, I agree with that.   

At the moment, he is innocent.   Even if found guilty he should have reasonable standards of care.imo.

I am sorry to be at odds with some of my friends but I believe in plain and basic, but humane conditions, in prison.   Who knows, he might even be mentally ill?   I believe that the lead in the Madeleine case is.


From his appearance he is having a rough time of it.  I wonder if his prized leather jacket has been stolen?
