Your point about Jane Tanner is something that I have tried again and again to get my head round and just cannot for the life of me see how someone who didn't know the McCanns and wasn't close to would risk serious charges by participating in a cover up.

I can't see any of the holiday party risking serious charges to cover up a child's death.

Well one thing i have thought odd was that the night Madeleine disappeared wasn't Jane Tanner's child ill?

Could it perhaps be that if sedation of some kind was used on the McCann children it was also used on Ms Tanner's child?

Just strikes me as too much of a coincidence that her child was ill at around the same time Madeleine disappeared.

In my opinion, none of the children were sedated.  However, even if they were, I just can't see people agreeing to lie to cover up the death of a 3 year old child.  I think that people would just want to do the decent thing.  Just my opinion.

You would like to think so, wouldn't you? But who can say how other people will react in situations we have never found ourselves in?

You can't apply your own logic and sensibilites to other people and treat it as a fact just because you would not behave in that way.

Do you not think someone would have cracked by now? Come on! Some of the holiday party barely knew Kate and Gerry McCann.  Why on earth would they risk serious charges and possible custodial sentences to cover up for people they were not that close to?

If Jane Tanner had identified Murat - then she would have immediately been taken to the police station to make a signed statement.

A doctor sedating his/her child is no crime, since doctors are supposed to be aware of counter effects and what to do if.

Agreed, but what if it went wrong for whatever reason? Made the O'Brien child ill and worse for Madeleine?

It would help explain the collusion between them if there was a shared responsiblity.

It is not beyond the realms of possibilities though is it? It cannot be ruled out as an impossibility.

There was newspaper reports that two of the groups wished to amend there statements, and by coincidence the two mentioned were Tanner and O'Brien.

This guy spent some time near the G5, spoke fluent English and Portuguese and used glasses.

I can see how he may have been seen  instead of Murat,( a local who spoke both languages and probably did help with some translating),  by someone who didnt know him,  in the dark, flitting around, searching, talking, getting a general fleeting look and then when Murat was in the news on the 15th of May people my have thought *thats the guy* there on that night. i meanhe doesnt look a million miles different.  His witness statement tallies with the time the Tapas 3 say they saw *Murat* 23.30/2400 and onwards.......but.....that means they were not telling the truth when they said he introduced himself...
