Perhaps because they (later) accused the McCanns of sedating the children?
I've already answered this question, at least twice.

You appear to think the PJ made a mistake in not testing the twins for sedation. I would be interested to know what reason you think they had for doing so?

What happened to the "check everything" bit of your sig. line - or do the PJ have an exemption?

Later? So not at the time, so no reason to have the twins tested at the time.

The later accusation might tend to suggest a prior suspicion?

It also may not. The accusation mentions 'straight away', so we need evidence that the PJ were concerned straight away.

Why would they have been concerned later.

There was no (long-term) suggestion of harm to the twins.

It was Kate who checked to see if they were breathing...did she suspect they had beendrugged/ murdered?  I understand the drug story came about due to the  twins being in a very deep sleep which was unusual for them, whilst a noisy commotion was taking place all about them.

I doubt she suspected the twins had been murdered as, being an experience doctor, she was probably able to ascertain that they were still breathing...  8(0(*

The point is were they concerned 'straight away' as the thread title says. If not, why would they test the children?

Is it normal police procedure to check all children at a crime scene for drugging then? If not, why would they?

Can you point out what was inaccurate in FL's post?

yes...the reason they were not charged was...according to the archiving report...

The archiving of the Process concerning arguidos Gerald Patrick McCann and Kate Marie Healy, because there are no indications of the practise of any crime under the dispositions of article 277 number 1 of the Penal Process Code

faithlillys post...which you appear to defend is a total misrepresentation of the facts

I think we could all ascertain if a child was still breathing. I wonder what her plan was if they stopped? Do doctors routinely wait until breathing stops before taking any action? Even though they are 'very concerned'?

breathing doesn't suddenly stop...Kate could tell from her hand  that the breathing was normal

Super doctor! How regularly did she check then? Every five minutes, ten minutes, 15 minutes?  You have no idea.
