Gerry thought that The Police had been called. Unless of course, you can prove that Gerry knew that The Police hadn't been called.
His arguido interview answer is clear.
"When asked why instead of scouring the land next to the complex they stayed inside the apartment, he replies that it did not happen that way.
While the guests and employees of the resort were searching,
he went to the main Reception to check whether they had called the Police, and told Kate to wait inside the apartment. After going to the Reception he went back to the apartment where he stayed in the living room and in their bedroom."
Gerry is outdoors searching not at main reception as his interview answer suggests. He didn't get to main reception until 10:40. Matt was there at 10:10 onwards.
"I think it's Stuart HILL or, well the Manager, the sort of Manager got involved, that might have been when it occurred. Erm, so there was plenty of running around through the back streets and back to the apartment and then, you know, where's the, where are the Police, where are the Police, erm, and so went back down to the reception, this would have been about
thirty minutes or so later, erm, back to reception, erm, and at that point, Gerry had come down as well." (MO)
30 minutes is a long time to be running through back streets where Smithman was seen and is still unidentified.
