I have seen no evidence supporting the bolded text; all I've seen is some people questioning his guilt as pronounced by Wolters. I think that's a reasonable question given the lack of charges after 5 years of investigation.

Probably wrong of all these police forces and their investigators to have 'ganged up' on this proven sexual deviant to come up with enough evidence to declare he is the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

He has been made Arguido by the Portuguese and their law no longer allows that to happen without evidence being in place which justifies that.
